I forget, was it a Star Trek film or spin-off episode, where they had interactions with an entity calling itself 'Vger'?

I think it had become sentient and the 'oya' had been covered up by space muck (Iron Chicken sh!t or something) so it thought it was called 'Vger'. Am I imagining this? I did maybe do a little too much in those days. I wonder if it was #1 or #2 - I don't suppose NASA have a record of this.

Why is Voyager 2 not Voyager 1 given it was launched first?

It is to do with their different trajectories.

Plus also V2 was launched first

According to the milo
meter thingy it's heading back towards earth. Or is that just a quirk of the earth's orbit round the sun?

Less is more.

There is a good documentary on bbc Storyville about the Voyager missions, with lots of interviews from those responsible.

I wasn’t born at the time and had never appreciated the magnitude of what they achieved.
