...are usually few and far between for us, I'm struggling to think of too many. Usually we fluff our lines and lose... and by big away following, I mean 3 / 4 thousand plus (so Watford on St Chaplow's Day doesn't really count).
The only ones that spring to mind are: Blunts in the POs in 1997 (1-1) West Ham in POs in 2005 (2-2 after being 0-2 down) Swindon on Easter Saturday 1999 (6-0) Bolton PO semis in 2000 (also 2-2 after being 0-2 down)
Er, that's about it I think!

Whilst you are right about the historic failings, they really have no relevance to the here and now. Different players, different manager, different era. Those records are there to be beaten. Hopefully they will be on Saturday. COYB!
Good performances and / or results in front of large away followings.... on 17:47 - Feb 10 by Steve_M
Fulham was over 4,000 in February 2015. That was good.
Yep, that’s a good shout.
I would also add Watford in the cup when we lost 0-1, Haynes goal disallowed and Callaghan sent off. That was a good performance, even if we didn’t get the result. We all said after if carried on like that for the rest of the season we’d be ok….

Yes, I have since seen the other thread about big away followings.
Did you go to Forest away for FA Cup QF in '81? Remember there being a few thousand pretty packed in. One of my favourite ever matches too, top quality ding dong of a match. As we were leaving the rumour went round that Villa were losing and the singing started up again. It was just a rumour and proved to be false.

Do you mean this game
Yep, that's the one. Will look at the video but believe went two up, Forest scored three and then we equalised. The replay at Portman Road won by a Muhren classic.

Strange how Town fans celebrating at the end like they'd won and were through having been two nil up, home advantage was no doubt huge back then at PR!

I think there was a feeling we'd completely blown a 2 goal lead and momentum had swung Forest's way after scoring the third, so relief at taking them back to PR and the false news Villa had lost in the league.

I'd argue that the second leg against Arsenal in the Carling Cup wasn't too bad. A match that we had no expectation of getting anything out of, yet we managed to hold them off for the thick end of an hour.
Not a great performance, albeit one with some good bits, but Chambers equalising late on at Peterborough was good in that away end. Best part of 4,000 there i think?

Yes, we started well, Toney got on top but scenes (I believe is the modern parlance?) when Chambers equalised in the last minute.
