It's not getting any better........ 13:37 - May 10 with 1342 views | HARRY10 | ..................... in fact, it is getting worse if anything As the aggregate of polls as of 8th May has the Tories on 34% and Labour on 41% which would result in 241 and 321 seats respectively in an election, as https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/fcgi-bin/usercode.py?scotcontrol=Y&CON=3 Whilst the usual caveats apply (events, dear boy etc) these figures have been fairly steady for 6 months now. What they don't factor in either, is the amount of tactical voting that could take place, as with 1997, when Majors government were seen as not only sleazy but incompetent. The same sense of 'get them out' was apparent last Thurs, in the local elections. And it's worth looking at the Tory MPs who would lose their seats on current polls - never mind any tactical voting. They certainly will be looking. So the question is how long can the Tories stick with bloater who is a clear liability - 73% unfavourable v 23% favourable. And can they repair the damage he continues to cause, given the economy is only set to get worse ? https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/uk-poll-tracker-parties-compared-opinion-polls

It's not getting any better........ on 14:06 - May 10 with 1199 views | ghostofescobar | Tactical voting could work for Labour. Disaffected (Remainer) Tory voters held their nose and voted Tory rather than Lib Dem at the last election, in case that let in Corbyn via the back door. At the next election, they are far more likely to vote Lib Dem and not fear (as much) Starmer (if Starmer is still there), so the Tories are likely to lose seats to the Lib Dems. The left/right pattern is increasingly splitting along the lines seem in the USA, with the left sweeping the cities and the right mopping up elsewhere (a simplistic summary!). Labours challenge is their once traditional voting base, which isn't swinging back in big enough numbers.

Many of us disaffected (I prefer "purged") Tory remainers did vote LD at the last election. What was unexpected was the sheer volume of turkeys voting for Christmas, the people whose lives have been made patently worse by this government. And somehow, a large number STILL can't see how they've been had... Also, yes, Corbyn was a factor in stopping any wavering voters from voting Red. In most seats, if you weren't voting for Labour or Tory, your vote was effectively meaningless.

A rogue poll...........is a rogue poll. The above is an aggregate of all polls over 6 months. And as shown (link) the drift is from the Tories to Labour The problem the Tories have is in fighting a 'nightwatchman' (cricket) - someone who will be the fall guy as the sht hits the fan. Despite absurd posturing the government will not trigger a trade war with the EU, and the bowler hatted bigots (DUP) are not wanting play ball, as it finally dawns on them that Johnson lied to them. There is not a 'over ready deal', not any deal. Just a huge big LIE. Much as blocking workers is causing the same problems as blocking ports with cost and red tape is. Queues at the airports matching those at sea ports (lorries) Fruit rotting in the fields, and pubs/restaurants etc not able to open. Meanwhile migrants continue to cross the channel in ever growing numbers, knowing that the UK is outside of the previous mechanism (Dublin Accord) whereby they could be sent back. And as the realities of brexit start to really hit home (post covid), Johnsons government have lost their sole reason for existence. It will be simply a matter of voting to get them out, as seen on Thursday

I’m waiting for Harry to be exposed as an overweight, disabled, elderly woman of loose morals who votes Tory and comes in here for a bit of self loathing. [Post edited 10 May 2022 16:06]

Every time I see a poll like this I cry a little that we don't have proportional representation.

Well overweight, elderly and loose morals seem to be par for the course for Tory MPs, so he might be one of those?

You would think that. Still Nice ... and .... slow.... The poll I linked to was an aggregate of polls, aggegate "those cows Dougal, are far away, these cows are near" an aggregate though you posting a poll that shows Labour in a 6 point lead does rather make me wonder if you really are that dim - as the idea being is that you post up something that backs your argument, not mine and that poll would mean Con 247 and Lab 315, which does really blow a massive whole it the idea of an aggregate poll, and watching movement over 6 months "these are small because they are far away "
