Conference play off final 11:13 - Jun 4 with 1830 views | Hipsterectomy | I didn't realise it was being played at West Ham's ground, which doesn't help either team being in the West midlands and Grimsby. I saw Vanarama National League released a statement about it due to fan backlash for difficulty travelling and the unnecessary travel or staying over cost etc. I'd have assumed that the lower down the leagues you go it would be more in tune with fans, but it's still a sponsorship and money-making business. Conference play off final on 11:17 - Jun 4 with 1776 views | Keno | a Grimsby fan group had put out an appeal for donations to help younger/poorer fans get there today, which raised a tidy sum. such a fan that fans seem to be the last people considered by football authorities

Conference play off final on 11:21 - Jun 4 with 1746 views | Chrisd | Why don’t they simply play it at the club’s ground that finished highest in the league who are in the final? Follows the same format that they use in their play off system and still gives the advantage to the side that finished highest. Just seems another money making scheme playing at a ground that has no relevance to either side. [Post edited 4 Jun 2022 17:06]

City Ground, Nottingham would have been a perfect neutral Venue. Given all the likely permutations, a neutral venue in the midlands would have been a much more sensible option. A lot of the backlash is also about the price of the tickets….clearly someone is just thinking of it as a money making opportunity, screwing on the emotions of fans

Or Villa Park, which has a tradition of acting as a neutral venue for big club games, and very good transport links.

Should have today's final at the City Ground, Nottingham. Ideal location for both clubs, 30k sell out. Would have been just perfect.

Thinking about it, perhaps it might be difficult in early June to find a venue that isn’t having their turf relaid

Indeed. Instead fans have to make an expensive trek to London and watch the game in an athletics stadium.

Conference play off final on 15:59 - Jun 4 with 1173 views | Mullet | It's pretty disgraceful. I also think that ticket prices need to be looked at so that finals and specific competitions have caps on pricing. The widening gaps caused by TV revenue year upon year, means prices like this are totally unjustifiable when the rationale is about "product".

Not sure villa park would work as it is only 17 miles from Solihull. Leeds or old Trafford might be better options.

Or to be totally fair to all. Retford FC's ground is roughly equidistant between the two.
