Always seemed like a decent bloke who was clearly enjoying his time at the club. I think most would agree that Walton is an upgrade on him as a keeper, but would wish him well at Carlisle.

Decent move for him, must be an uncertain time for him and his family so it's good to get something sorted out, hopefully for his sake its a 3 year deal. I think people forget that for footballers at this level it's a very short career and very much a case of earning what you can while you can. To be out of work at 30 is tough for someone who has probably 'only' been on £50k - £60k a year for a fraction of his career, and perhaps not on that at Carlisle. With a young family too I believe.

Hope it works out for him, not a bad place to base himself on the face of it. Can't say I've ever been to Carlisle though.

Seems like a top bloke doesn't he, shame he wasn't able to establish himself here even as a dependable back up as he strikes me as someone who was really good to have around the place

Lovely guy, and decent keeper, could never understand why Hladky was preferred to him - good luck Tomas.

“I think most would agree that Walton is an upgrade on him as a keeper”. Surely all would agree.

Born and bred in Carlisle, spent send 25 years of my life in the Midlands but go back to Carlisle most weekends to visit my Mum and play darts

It has some issues, but Holy could pick up a nice 4 bedroomed house 20 mins drive to the Ground / training centre for £250000

Good manager is Simmo, I know his brother from school. hope Holy does well....

He was a great guy but as a keeper in this league he was bang average at Gillingham, he would have made a good backup to Bart who we should have prioritised keeping in this league, even if the wages were costly because he would have made all the difference. Holy then wasn't up to it, we then somehow managed to find a worse keeper in Norris, and then Cornell was about the same level the season after. Walton as pointed out is a massive upgrade on Holy, but if we're being honest he wasn't good enough to play here. No shock he's in the 4th division for me.
