The front covers of The Daily Hate and Express are frankly deranged !

Post truth right wing populism in action.

Boris has been terrible, he has proven to have lied ad infinitum, despite the spin he has delivered nothing, and the corruption has been off the scale, with still bigger concerns unanswered:

And as for the Express headline: “Thanks you gave Britain back its freedom” !! Where to begin, firstly Brexit isn’t done, he didn’t ‘get it done’ in fact it’s a mess of open issues. Importantly we don’t have the freedom to trade with our biggest and closest market! AND Boris has introduced legislation to remove our freedom to protest.

Right wing populism and post truths have destroyed the USA, and they got us into Brexit, and they got us our worst prime minister… do not buy these rags

I want to sit in our new dug out and luxuriate in the bucket seats!

You forgot the Sun whose headline today is gushing.

The Sun for other people's benefit states "Kiss Goodbye... and thanks for Brexit, Boris"

Thanks for Brexit! what the thing that even Farage states is incomplete and has huge hurdles to complete. Brexit is s disaster.

So how come Britain's largest circulation paper can state 'thanks for Brexit' without irony. Its a post truth world in Britain. Don't buy theses rags. Don't look at them on-line.

(Note I forgot one comment about the Express headline - 'you gave Britain back its freedom' no Boris you helped expedite the break up on Britain, Britain has Scotland in it)

Finally lets focus on the Daily Star headline... which has a blank list of 35 items stating 'Boris Legacy in Full' with only 3 items.. got a cute dog, good part organiser, nice wallpaper.. when the Daily Star are providing our truths.. you know there is a problem with our media

DJR - what do you think of the new bucket seats??

Never fear folk - you are very fortunate in having your very own media outlet to tell us mere mortals how stupid, ignorant, racist etc we really are!
It is called TWTD forum, known throughout Ipswich and beyond as THE left WING TRIBUNE DAILY).
Your conversion rate I'm afraid will remain (spot the pun!) poor as those with differing views are not made welcome and have different language barriers to most of you; your clever use of asterisks is always acceptable and using a VV to replace a W is another ruse readily acceptable by your leaders!
Happy Friday to all your readers.

So simple three questions for you:

1) do you think Boris has been a PM of integrity and honesty, who ha enhanced the status of the UK?
2) what specific achievements can you highlight during his tenure?
3) do you think Brexit has been done? and what benefits have been realised?

You won't answer these I know.

But what about these questions are left wing? and also how can you have a differing view from the truth?

FACTS are FACTS (people can debate this all day long) = "the truth about events as opposed to interpretation"

Now where you have got my post wrong is you think I am LEFT WING.... which is incorrect, I am more centrist.

I am open minded. I actually think there were some quite good reasons to Vote Leave, but they were significantly outweighed by the cons, and if we'd had a sensible debate (that wasn't hijacked by the Pravda press, and right wing populism) we could have negotiated a superb relationship with Europe that kept levels of independence, and kept us influencing the European Mega State, but not directly within it.

Not trying to convert just trying to make people question where they get their truths! if its from the The Sun, The Mail, The Express, The Telegraph, or Algorithm based social media.. then good luck to you. Because it isn't the truth. Do you understand who owns these papers? do you understand their agendas? Have a look at their owners and those who influence their editorial stance??

(From the FT, a PLC with independent editorial):

"A Labour government would replace the “non-dom” taxpayer status enjoyed by many wealthy individuals in the UK – including the chancellor’s wife – the party announced on Monday.

Rachel Reeves, shadow chancellor, said Labour would abolish non-domiciled status and introduce a shorter term scheme for those staying in the UK for up to five years. Britain’s non-doms can currently enjoy tax-free status on foreign earnings for up to 15 years."

How dare you have a go at The Barclay Brothers as they have a tenuous link with ITFC! Plus one of them died recently I believe. I am being facetious of course and whilst accepting several of your points, the reason I will not answer or get in a debate with you is the intolerance, rudeness and utter lack of respect there is on this forum for anyone of differing opinions.
I have voted Labour many times (I even voted for Neil Kinnock!) but I am afraid the current trend of publicly humiliating individuals be they politicians, sports men and women, or and other celebrities is not something I adhere to, especially when it is done by folk who hide behind a keyboard.
Finally Unstable Blue (must go, car to clean!), I respect a lot of what you say (not all of course!), but the delivery leaves a bit to be desired!
Oh were you aware that Marcus Evans once bid for The Mirror Group!!.

That’s a response with a nice tone and style, good stuff.

I’m actually confused by what your opinion is now?!

But I’m all up for nuance and it’s healthy to have different views and sides to arguments.

But again truth is truth, fact is fact. And the reason you don’t respond to my questions is that Boris and this cabinet and Brexit have been very negative for this country.

I’m not about being a leftie or some intellectual snobbery, I’m just about truths.

This perhaps is a better way to describe the situation we are in:

Opinions, fine. But there is a responsibility to justify them with evidence. All the evidence, for now, is that the UK is falling behind other comparable economies. The difference is very close to UK govt's own projections of what would happen after Brexit. 6 years since the vote, and the direction is downwards.

in politics evidence is often in the eye of the beholder. everyone can find 'evidence' to back up their prior opinion. political rhetoric is always laden with 'evidence'. believing that your argument is the only one for which there is 'evidence' is usually blinkered.

So your posts have beautifully set-up the issue we have.

You and others think that the board is preaching! That we’re all
Lefty loons.

I don’t think everyone is left leading liberals on this board.

But there is only one truth, it is fact based. Now we can have nuances to that, some differing opinion but truth remains.

And that’s the worlds problem in a post truth world. Russian citizens think Ukraine is a special operation, by your logic that’s absolutely valid.

Trump won the election - no he didn’t! But people think he did, and that’s dangerous

Boris stated he’s ‘got Brexit done’ - he hasn’t. Which was my point.

‘Evidence is in the eye of the beholder’ - so you seem to suggest there is a different truth?

Do you think Brexit has been done? Can you think that.

Farage who is the chief architect of Brexit, as right as right can be - he says it isn’t done and there are more hurdles.

So why are you calling me out as being some polar opposite person. Just wanted some truth.

Oh dear

First off what I said was: “But there is only one truth, it is fact based. Now we can have nuances to that, some differing opinion but truth remains. ”

When I say nuances I admit there is subjective truth - which I think is what you’re saying?!

But ultimately in most things there is objective or at the very least complex truth.

And I’ll ask you yet again when Boris states ‘he’s got Brexit done’ is he telling the truth?

Objectively no way. Fact. Truth.

a statement like that doesn't have a true or false answer. it can be interpreted in multiple ways and each interpretation can call different arguments to support or challenge it. and then people can still disagree about the answer. the idea that politics can be reduced to truth and lies is very depressing. try to work out why people disagree with you rather than assuming you're the one with the 'facts'.

oooh this is a good debate.. although you could work on your tone!

I think this is quite valid - "a statement like that doesn't have a true or false answer. it can be interpreted in multiple ways and each interpretation can call different arguments to support or challenge it."

And in a way I agree.

when Boris states "‘he’s got Brexit done’ is he telling the truth?" has been a terrible example to use. Its not an objective truth (or is it?!), perhaps its a subjective truth as in it is how someone perceives/experiences the world.

Now you have to agree - Trump lost the election? Johnson lies? Brexit has caused economic damage? these are objective truths in my mind. Undeniable.

As for "‘he’s got Brexit done’ is he telling the truth?" - well we did leave Europe? so maybe it is a 'truth'. But, and this is the thing, if you ask people and experts from all sides of the debate - and this is key from ALL SIDES OF THE DEBATE - they would say it was an untruth. Because factually the agreements we have in place are not working, they are not workable, and are not enduring, so Brexit in its very essence and form, has to change radically. So therefore can you say 'Brexit is done'?

Do you get me?
