One of Forest Greens fans just said that we are probably the biggest team they have ever played against in any competition (not including friendlies) in the entire history of their club.
Pretty crazy that. Suspect Saturday with it being their first ever match in the third tier will be a big occasion for them. A bit like an FA cup tie but obviously with it actually being a league game.

Not especially surprising as it’s the first time they’ve got into this league (I think). And they played Bristol Rovers on Sat.
They always play Cardiff and Swansea in pre-season; I suppose it’s relatively local for those 2 teams. |  |

I was reading up on them at the weekend and realised I used to work with their manager back in the day. I took one of those coaching gigs in the US during a summer break from uni and me and him were placed together with a club for a couple of weeks and shared the same digs.
Remember him saying then (we were both around 20) that he wanted to be a football manager. Thought at the time he had no chance as he had no playing background, but it's nice to see that it is working out for him and he's obviously put some work in. Similar background in a way to KM.
We're friends on FB although I never use it so probably why I only just realised he'd gone there - will ping him good luck this season message after we beat them 3-0 on Saturday. |  |

I will happily take a 1-0 win. I like Forest Green but we need 3 points.
Cannot blame them for marketing their first season at this level as best they can. There are a few clubs at this level who are significantly bigger than anything they have met at league level before and we are one of them. I actually like the fact other clubs recognise our historic achievements. We should be proud of them. Now to get working hard to get back to a level that is more in keeping with them. | |
