Simple Yes or No on 21:22 - Aug 3 with 2049 views | PhilTWTD | Yes, but I don't think we're in a big hurry, this month will be used to assess where the existing squad is. George Hirst is still the top target. Also think we'll look at an alternative to Celina.

Viewing it in a very simplistic way, we’ve lost Norwood, Bonne and Piggott, and only bought in Ladapo as far as strikers go.

TJJ is also a striker in that calculation, I'd say. I think we're unlikely to be in a situation where we can't put out at least 3 good forward players any time soon. So I'd hope we're taking our time, going after players that we think are genuinely better than what we've already got and prepared to leave it if that sort of opportunity doesn't present itself. We've got a big squad, likely a bigger wage bill than all but one other club, at some point you do have to tell the manager and the squad to go make it work. [Post edited 3 Aug 2022 21:40]

Thought he was more a creative type? That said, Chaplin has been a striker all his career too.

Played the vast majority of his youth football as a centre forward, but I think has played across the forward line in his different loan spells (as often happens with young strikers).

Simple Yes or No on 21:51 - Aug 3 with 1853 views | Swansea_Blue | No. Just to be different so I can say I told you so. Although I've absolutely no idea of course. We do have at least 3 senior players KM trusts to play the frontman role in a 1, so I wouldn't be surprised if we aren't looking for anyone else. If he stays with 1 up top, then Ladapo and Jackson are enough. More than 2 players fighting for a single position is excessive. Chaplin can also fill in if needed. Whether we think those 2/3 have enough goals in them is a whole different question (I don't think they do). But you can't keep collecting players; that's what caused us some many problems with former managers.

| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

Yeah, the idea that we must get a striker come what may rather assumes that we've haphazardly assembled 3 players we don't really trust in the knowledge that the good one is coming later, which I don't think is the case (hope not!).

I think TJJ is more of a number nine but capable of other roles. So far he's impressed, not just me but I gather the players have been really impressed by him. Jackson can also play as a number nine, although I'd suggest he's better in a wide role in a front three.

Rotherham got out of this league with just 3 goals more than we scored last year. More than one way out. [Post edited 3 Aug 2022 22:11]

Morgan Rogers as a Celina alternative, if he doesn’t go to Blackpool?
Simple Yes or No on 22:11 - Aug 3 with 1624 views | Nthsuffolkblue | What would be really useful is some way to put all the yes and no responses into a simple pie chart to make it clear that we are 100% yes (apart from the 1 don't know). That's a yes, by the way.
