Expect to see Keogh sooner rather than later.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Free headers are unacceptable at any level. Such a stupid goal to give away

I think McKenna learnt that before signing him. Need to get him fit.

Have to agree with this. We will never be in top form every week but today we should've won but could've lost if that makes sense. Can see a couple of quality signings before Thursday.

Agree we so some things really well in defence and some things really badly

Our possession game should always allow us to score in each match but we need clean sheets to guarantee promotion

I would like to see Keogh too

I don't think Edmundson or Wolfenden could complain. I would favour him replacing Edmundson as I think Wolfenden will learn more from him. Keogh brings leadership and organisation on top of being a very good defender.

Is Keogh a ball playing defender?

I suspect that, since we signed him, McKenna is happy that he is.

Do you have a reason to believe that he is not?

I always thought he was more of a mop up, traditional centre back but that might just be because he looks like one!

Personally didn’t understand why Burgess was dropped or why he didn’t stick with TJJ up front.

I think keeping TJJ up front after the way he played last match would have made good sense but Ladapo was always going to be back in. Playing TJJ wide allowed this to happen. Not sure either of those changes are why we drew the game.

Why was Ladapo always going to come back in? We won 3-0!

Burgess might have won at least one of those headers

The first goal however wasn't just about the header. The space given to allow the ball to be put into the box was criminal.

a niche perspective

Why? Both him and Morsy (in corporate lounge) after the game basically said the corner goal was unavoidable….marking zonally and ball lands on a blockers head 15 yards out who then plants a superb header away.

First set piece goal conceded all season and just an unlucky one.

Yep, it happens. But for the referee we win that game and even with that still should have done with all the injury time chances.

Just a performance you take the positives from as 9/10 you win that game with how we played

Agree Joe, could have defended the first better it was scrappy and we looked like we’d been happy to get the free kick away and switched off. We hear bring in Keogh but who for?

Post, off the line, flying save all of those in last 3 minutes of injury time. We will play worse than that and score 3/4.

Keogh is likely to get game time in the Papa Johns Trophy match which is this week. Yes likely to seem him very soon. It is possible there will be some rotation at the back but I’m not sure it’s as urgent as the OP suggests given we’ve conceded only 4/6 games and that’s already with some natural rotation.

The priority at the start of the season is to be on the pace. Get enough points not to be out of it as we were six games in after the Bolton hiding last year.

If you are playing well too, that sets you up nicely. Two/three seasons ago we won games early without playing particularly well and the hope then was the team would get stronger. Oops.

It’s different this year. We are dominating games and look like a team. As you point out, 9/10 times we win that game yesterday. Despite the disappointment it’s a good sign.

A lot has been made of the fact that the Ref decided Harness had fouled and rightly so but if he was going to chalk the goal off why did he not award a penalty for high foot by the defender ?

1) it was outside the area

2) refs guide dog didn’t see it.

Ladapo was always going to come back in because he is our first choice striker and has been doing well so far. Those who measure performance by goal return won't realise that but McKenna is not so simplistic. We don't sign Ladapo to then leave him on the bench just because the loan striker who comes in for a match has a very good match there. And we again scored 3 goals and could have had more (except one was bizarrely ruled out).

It will be interesting to see what McKenna does next Saturday but I suspect Ladapo will start and John-Jules will drop to the bench to be used later in the game. Happy to be proven wrong.
