5 days after being unable to walk properly from that hit the other day in the game, then the Dolphins claim it’s ‘only a back injury’ so he can play tonight, and then that. His fingers doing that when he was on the floor was sickening. Sign of a head trauma apparently.
Dolphins medical staff going to be in big big trouble over this.
Shows all this focus on concussions in recent years in the NFL is just PR. No way should he have been playing just four days after the last injury. Apparently the NFLPA wanted an investigation into Tua's diagnosis after Sunday

That’s true but that assumes the “independent medical experts” who rule on these things are truly independent and don’t face any pressure from NFL clubs to clear their Star players to play. Guy literally collapsed on the field last Sunday, is cleared to play five days later.
I was amazed they let him back on the field on Sunday. Last night was awful. If it is 'only' a concussion, he surely needs several weeks away to recover fully after this

No idea on the outcome of this but fingers crossed he will come back from.
For those challenging whether he should be on the field, when he went off last week he was reviewed by both the Dolphins doctors and passed the NFL concussion protocols before being allowed back on the field.
There will of course be questions asked, and it's right to do so, but until that's occurred it's difficult to say whether he should have played last night. Tua being Tua probably pushed as hard as he could to get on the field last night

Agreed this could easily drive change in the game. As much as the pads and helmet protect the played they also add to the power of the impact. The NFL has changed over the years, like limiting the days of full contact practice in the off season, coming down hard on rouge hits, reeducating players on what hits are allowed, but ultimately it's a contact sport and you can only go so far. Tuas hit was not illegal, likewise the one on him the previous week, it's sadly a by-product of the current game. The team need to put his health first but so does he. He is such a competitive person that sometimes you need to step on and protect him from himself.
As you say more and more ex-players are suffering from long term brain trauma, so something needs to change. It's not that dissimilar to rugby players, footballers heading the ball... At what point does the potential damage become "worth it" for the sake of sport/entertainment?

It is by nature a contact sport and having seen these guys up reasonably close, even the little ones are enormous. Injury goes with the territory and the ones that take the biggest hits like running backs have a short career. Quarterbacks much longer by and large though Tua won’t if he takes too many of those.
Why the Dolphins? I chose the Bears many years ago when it first appeared on Channel 4 (Nicky Horne etc) and they were the worst team.

I've been a few times to their home stadium(s) to see games and also seen them play in London a couple of times. It's actually always been my sport of choice (sorry real football), enjoy most things about the sport, those some things I wish were different.

Four or five years before they were awful. Then the 1985 Bears came. Hurrah! It didn’t last. My buddy decided on the Redskins, firstly because he liked the kit but I think mainly because of John Riggins and the Super Bowl win against the Dolphins. Dan Marino - best QB never to win a Super Bowl.
Seen the Redskins and the Dolphins and a number of the other teams at Wembley over the years and the Rams/Jets at Spurs, but never the Bears. It’s our aim to go to a game in the States one day. The closest was being Denver last time they won - seeing them in a months time. I really like NFL.
I have been to ML Baseball in Boston and like that too. The only American sport I dislike is Basketball.
