Time for some serious debate on 10:50 - Oct 15 with 690 views | Churchman | Mauricio Taricco. Don’t get me wrong, Pablo was a smashing player and a pleasure to watch when he and the team were ‘on it’. Taricco after a ‘not too sure about him’ start became a firm favourite with me. Good on the ball, competitive, one hundred percenter, good in the tackle, two footed so could play both sides, good passer, had a bit of everything. Hard as nails too. You didn’t take liberties with Mauricio if you wanted a pain free end to your day. One of our best players in that mid/late 90s period.

It think interesting questions, in a couple of years if we get promoted, would be: Taricco or Morsy? As both embody steel, heart and drive, and a willingness to stand up and fight when needed. But Taricco spent many seasons in the Prem, so it's not an entirely fair comparison. And the closest we have to Pablo at the moment might be Chaplin, with elements of Aluko and John-Jules. So Chaplin or Pablo? If we get promoted we will hopefully be able to answer both questions after at least one season of Champiomship football. If we are looking at a more "like for like" comparison, not from this era, then I would probably say that the questions should be: Taricco or Magilton? (Different positions, but on temperament and what they meant to the team when the chips were down) And Pablo or McGoldrick?

I'm sorry, what? Are you comparing league 1 borderline championship players with players that were nearly or were premiership quality. Tarrico, Pablo miles ahead of morsy and co.

I don't think you read all of it. I clearly said we could maybe make this comparison in a couple of years after a season in the Championship. It's because of the difference in quality of opposition that I suggest Taricco v Magilton and Pablo v McGoldrick as more like for like comparisons.
