You're all laughing, but think how worse it could have been:
I'm fresh in from work and am only just seeing the fallout from today. It's almost daily now that this lot are in chaos. I especially like Braverman suggesting the Tories aren't going in the right direction for her. Who are? Britain First?
They're incompetence personified and bad news for all of us - even the most tribal believer must see this by now.
'I’ve never seen scenes like it at the entrance to a voting lobby. Tories on open warfare. Jostling and Rees Mogg shouting at his colleagues. Whips screaming at Tories. They are done and should call a general election. Two Tory whips dragging people in. Shocking.'
'Massive Tory row going on in the lobby, literally trying to force people through. Lots of anger'

If this is true, surely that is a serious offence of some kind? I mean really serious. Certainly a direct attack on democracy akin to Trumpist actions isn't it?

I've just seen something where an MP effectively said they were prepared to vote through fracking despite being against it, because that would mean they kept the whip, which in turn would mean their letter of no confidence against Truss lodged with Brady would still be on the table.
It's bonkers. The defining characteristic of the 2010s (and now 2020s) Tory premierships has been party (and self) above country. We need some sort of reset and some standards that are enforceable... a proper constitution...something that stops them going rogue and not doing what they are supposed to be doing.
The Telegraph @Telegraph 2 minutes ago 'Wendy Morton resigns as Chief Whip in latest blow for PM Wendy Morton resigned as Chief Whip tonight, the Telegraph understands, amid chaos over a vote on fracking.
Craig Whittaker, her deputy, is also understood to have quit.'
To lose one whip may be regarded as misfortune, to lose two whips looks like a sh ite government - Oscar Wilde

What a mess. And it's no longer a confidence vote anymore as they can't afford the rebellion. She's got zero control. None whatsoever.
I don't see how she can stay. (I don't really see how the Tories should be allowed to stay either given the job they're doing, other than there's no way to get rid of them. But that's another story).
