Wouldn’t even be two things at the same time though as potential England game will KO at 7pm?

I hadn't even realised that - makes the decision seem even more pointless. I'd assume that the club will be fairly peeved as well, given that they've been all but ordered to move the kick-off. They would probably have hoped for a good number of people to stay after the game to watch it at PR otherwise.

Exactly. And the local pubs probably wouldn't mind it either. Ridiculous. It's an admission that they cannot police effectively and that they're running scared of a few P'boro troublemakers going to the game and then staying out after. And all that assumes England win the group and subsequently progress.

I might be missing the point, but doesn't this now give any P'boro trouble-makers even longer to hang around and be a pain in the backside?

Potentially yes. It's just a backward decision whatever way you look at it.
Town v posh now 12.30 kickoff. on 13:09 - Nov 4 with 2799 views | StochesStotasBlewe | This upcoming World Cup is becoming a right pain in the arse. Friday night against Fleewood, now early kick off against Posh. Disruptive for both travelling away fans and our own supporters who come in large numbers from far and wide.

It's very, very quiet.

Town v posh now 12.30 kickoff. on 14:11 - Nov 4 with 2611 views | EastTownBlue | Fleetwood has moved to the previous day on the chance that England finish as runners up in Group B. Perhaps understandable as that would only give Fleetwood a week to make rearrangements if the Saturday was a clash. Peterborough has moved to earlier in the day if England win group B and their round of 16. At least one of those moves will end up being unnecessary.

Would you rather they go ahead and then run the game understaffed?

Why would staffing be any different for a kick off time 2.5 hours earlier?

Two big games in one day? It’s Ipswich v Peterborough - not Liverpool v Manchester United. It’s just a shame the World Cup fixtures were only announced yesterday so decisions like this couldn’t be made sooner.

Exactly. It’s a ridiculous decision taken by a very poor police force.
