The way they are waxing lyrical about Wales is embarrassing and so biased, I really hope the Americans find a late winner just to quieten them both down!

It's just the hyperbole, it's frankly ridiculous.
What really grated is the American players went down injured they were play acting to waste tiem (at 1-0). When a Welsh player was flat out, he was clearly being sincere.
Though I'm sure we're the same when it comes to Town.

Tyldesley is an awful commentator, why ITV employ him is a complete mystery, incapable of a measured comment, reliant upon hyperbole and obviously pre prepared gloss.

Today it was hugely over the top. Both of them going on about Gareth Bale like he’s god, I didn’t see him in the game until the penalty incident.
What got to me was, "George Weah, the best player to never play in a world cup finals. You could make a case for George Best or Di Stefano I suppose ..."
tbh its been like that for years, I used to synch R5 up with the pictures and Alan Green always used to have a comedy rant about something be it the hotel food or a other journalists, which kind of made you feel like it was the WC experience, not just another dreary rainy day in Manchester game.
but I just watch with the sound muted now, its a shame they cant just do a stadium audio only option as standard, though by the sounds of what Ive heard in the brief moments Ive listened so far, Im sure I could just play this in the background and it would be as authentic

Make a case for Di Stefano?!!
P1llock.
And then went on to suggest that a case could be made for Ian Rush....

I'd hate to meet some of you guys in a pub. He mentioned Rush, Best, Alfredo de Stefano etc as top players never to have played in the World Cup. What the hell is wrong with that? This everything-a-commentator-says-is wrong stuff is so boring.

"Joe Morrell, his Portsmouth side play Ipswich tomorrow night. Wonder where he'd rather be?" (Guffaw).
Get f**ked Tyldesley.
Yes, I picked up on that. Unpleasant, but then Tyldesley has always been a cliche ridden bore and a dreadful commentator. Tool. He’s not alone in that.
Oh for the days of my yoof with particularly Peter Jones but also Bryon Butler and Maurice Edelstone. They made you feel you were at the game by actually describing it.
I’ll never forget being away in Germany at the age of about 15 one time and tuning my little radio for the game and hearing Peter Jones say “Welcome to World Service, wherever you may be”.
Magical.

Yes he mentioned those players but only after declaring Weah to have been THE best.
It would be a good conversation to have without a doubt but he clearly picked out George Weah (unquestionably ONE OF the greatest to never play in a WC finals) simply because Timothy was on the US team.
Maybe it was a slip of the tongue ..... but I doubt he gave it much thought at all.

Wasn't his best performance tonight but I think he's an excellent commentator. Was a shame when Sam Matterface replaced him for the Euros.
