Can players modify their helmets at all, in terms of colour? Like presumably the predominant colour of the helmet must match their team mates/kit, but would they be allowed to, for example, paint the rainbow pride flag on it? |  |

Overall the players are very limited as to what they can do with their helmets and uniforms. Initially they have to choose from an approved list as to which style they want to wear. This has caused some discord as players helmets often are taken off that list due to improving safety features, which annoys them. They are not able to change colour or style as much be consistent with their team.
Cleats/boots also have to confirm to rules, players have often been fined for wearing non approved clears. Likewise they can't wear jewellery or even arm sleeves that are not approved or have any sort of branding on them.
The NFL is pretty strict on these rules and have no problem with fining players |  |

I think that the NFL are very strict when it comes to their uniforms - I still don’t think that it’s common for both teams to wear their ‘color uniforms’ in the same game. |  | | |
