Good win today, but that Plymouth result is the big one 17:24 - Feb 25 with 2224 views | Dubtractor | Getting turned over like that could really knock their confidence - a shame they have a fairly easy game next, but it'll be interesting to see how they do in the following 2 against Derby and Barnsley. Goes without saying, but we need maximum points from the next 2 ourselves.

Our results are always the most important. People have been obsessed with other teams all season. I d9nt think they will but if Plymouth do collapse we need to make sure we're the ones who capitalise, not finish 4th!

Weird response. You start by talking about other teams results, then complain about people being fascinated with other teams results! I literally said we need to win our games, but we do need Plymouth to falter too. Watching other teams results is part of the fascination of football - it's not like we play in a bubble with no other results mattering.

In an odd way, Barnsley and Bolton winning might not be totally bad news for us. Even if we’re winning games we still need Plymouth to wobble. Having three teams chasing them down might be more likely to induce the wobble than if it’s just one.

I always begin to look at other clubs fixtures and results in the last quarter of the season. It’s human nature and part of the fun of it.. Win our next two and see where we are. I still think it’s unlikely that we will finish top two, but keep winning our games and you never know. At the very least, let’s get into a good run of form so we can give those play offs a good go. It is easy to pick holes in performances, players who should have done this or the team that. Regardless, it was a very good, important win today and a clean sheet to boot. Pleased with that.

Plymouth have conceded 5 twice this season. I wonder how many teams get automatic promotion after that? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Good question. There can’t be many. I know (because I’ve just looked it up) that we conceded five twice when we won the league in 61/62, but I guess football was a tad different in those days so the comparison is not the best.

Get what you are saying, but we still have to play them both, again. So in that respect, it's still in our hands, to a degree.

My point was we've been in such bad form in recent months it doesn't really matter if Plymouth start to stutter because we've struggled to keep any distance between ourselves and the other chasing pack. I think this is the first time in ages we've strung 2 wins together so the most important thing is our results and putting a few wins together to build confidence. Maybe its negative, maybe its years of watching ITFC but I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if a team in 4th or 5th sneak in above us.
Good win today, but that Plymouth result is the big one on 18:30 - Feb 25 with 1407 views | Pinewoodblue | It really is stupid to concentrate on how PLymouth do, if they are still in an automatic spot at the end of the season they will be promoted on merit. We need to concentrate on keeping ahead of the chasing pack, and remember we have away games against Bolton, Barnsley & Derby to come. Let any of those three overtake us and we could end up playing Plymouth at Wembley.

I’d certainly fancy us in a play off final against Plymouth tbf. Especially if we’ve already beaten Derby, Bolton or Barnsley in a Semi.

That's fair enough, and I do agree with that, if we don't string wins together then nothing else matters!

Just realised they shipped 5 in the cup as well, so 3 times
