And then there's the female officer who has been found guilty of Gross Misconduct for beating Dalian Atkinson whilst he was incapacitated on the ground.
The article on the BBC states:
The panel is now set to hear evidence on whether the 33-year-old, who was a probationary officer at the time, should be allowed to keep her job or face a lesser sanction later on Friday.
In any role in which I've worked in the past, gross misconduct has meant instant dismissal, not the chance to have a (no-doubt, highly-paid) lawyer argue why you should keep your job.

I knew she was up for gross misconduct, hadn't realised they had found her guilty.
What struck me about the case was how long it takes.
"Did you report or raise any concerns having witnessed a fellow officer kicking a man in the head?"
"No, ok think we are ready to make our decision..."
The behavior described in the article is inappropriate and unprofessional for a police officer. Engaging in public masturbation is illegal and a violation of societal norms and expectations, and it undermines the trust and respect that citizens have for law enforcement officers. Additionally, using a vape pen on a train, especially when warned that it could set off smoke detectors, is a safety hazard that puts other passengers at risk. It is concerning that the officer in question continued to serve in the Met after being convicted of this behavior. Police officers are expected to uphold high standards of conduct and to serve as role models for the community, and engaging in such behavior undermines the integrity of the police force as a whole.

Serious?
These people are beyond a joke.
Given that she was on probation at the time, surely this should have been even more open-and-shut than if she'd been a substantive member of the force?
I don't really know my employment law, but isn't the whole idea of probation that you can let someone go for any/no reason whatsoever?

Only in the police can you keep your job after being found guilty of gross misconduct. Her now imprisoned co accused was also her lover. Really not appropriate for them to be on the beat together. Their defence was essentially that they were scared. They’re supposed to be highly trained professionals that can remain calm under pressure:not taser and kick/baton to death a mentally ill man.

Whoever you are doesn’t entitle you to break the rules. In fact, it’s the opposite. If you are in a position of authority you should obey them scrupulously in my view. There are no ‘ah buts’ in my world. Dirty old scumbag MP ogling porn in the HoC ‘for the first time?’? Yeah, right. See you later. Fiddle your expenses? - byeee. Ignore the rules we all abide by because you are a policeman? Here’s your P45. Keep it simple.
On a trivial note it’s why when the queen’s body was lying in state I had respect for Beckham but utter contempt for that wart Schofield and chum.
