I don't care if we finish 3rd or 4th, but I do care about finishing 2nd rather than 3rd. And Barnsley are the only ones we can take points off, so am happy to see someone take points off one of the top two. Now hope Exeter can take points off Barnsley in week, but tonight happy enough to see Barnsley win. | |

Agreed - really wanted a draw at the very least in one of these games.

In the other game, if Town have aspirations for autos, a draw or a Wednesday loss is good. This is assuming you think we can beat Barnsley. And indeed Derby, Posh etc.

By the very fact that a fair number of fans feel it’s ok to allow Barnsley to gain another three points on us. Sheffield Wednesday will be fine, I’d be surprised if they fail to finish top Two.
Halting Barnsley’s charge though for me was far more important.
Plymouth are there for the taking, They have a couple of very tricky away games and despite the fact that we have to play Derby, Wycombe, Peterborough as well as Barnsley I think we can over haul the Five point gap.

To successfully hunt down second, we will de facto finish above Barnsley. The battle with Barnsley is in our own hands. The worst result on Tuesday by far, imo, was Argyle winning. But that was a predictable result because Stanley are kind of as bad as FGR.
I was also looking for a Barnsley Wednesday draw, but if either were to lose I reckon it's better Wednesday did. If Barnsley finish above us fair play, they would have had a better run-in than Town. But to have any chance of autos we still need to just win most of our remaining games, maybe one or two draws. Seems improbable, and Barnsley's form makes it no more or less so.
This Town side should fear no one though, home or away. We're fackin good innit.
