Try Starfleet or Terrahawks great 1980s puppetry. Neither lasted too long. Starfleet was Japanese, but ending credits were sung by Brian May. Terrahawks was one of the last Gerry Anderson “supermarionation” outings.
Try Tom and Jerry. There is a cartoon that stands the test of time.

All the old Disney cartoons still hold up well. Incidentally, I used to love Mr Magoo but it hasnt been on TV for years. I expect its not considered appropriate in modern times to portray a visually impaired chap having conversations with lamp posts.

The Splits had some top writing talent for their sings, including Jimmy Radcliffe and Barry White! 'Gonna find a cave', 'Doin; The Banana Split', top R&B/Soul tracks, and the wonderful pop/psych/baroque masterpiece that is 'Wait Till Tomorrow'. Bubblegum Pop rules!
