Alternatives if Hirst doesnt sign 17:08 - May 5 with 4619 views | hunty21 | If cant sign Hirst what alternatives should we consider: a Will Keane - On a free scored 12 past year linked with Norwich worth a punt? Armstrong- proven at this level Stewart- probably too expensive and out of reach Clarke harris - prolific at league 1 can he step up? Bradshaw- Looks sharp at millwall Ferguson- Yes ambitious and maybe out of reach but maybe he needs a season playing regularly to develop Im sure there will be others but with the service we can give many of them will thrive [Post edited 5 May 2023 17:13]

I wouldn't personally use the word downgrade. Keane, when fit, is a very good footballer with a similar ability to read the game that we get from Broadhead. But what he wouldn't bring is that level of forceful and fast raiding style that a younger Hirst brings. So not the best fit, but a very good player nevertheless. [Post edited 6 May 2023 11:15]

I think they were being serious but he one of the biggest talents about currently, scoring premier league and now international goals yet some think he’d go on loan to a champ club. Not a chance. Bishop, no thanks. I’d rather a player who’s proven it at champ level. Will Keane - that ship has long sailed. Jerry Yates is interesting. Plenty of goals in a dire Blackpool team. Hopefully something can be sorted for Hirst though

Piroe available but Swansea want around 6m. Gyökeres is linked with Wolves for £20m. Sturridge will depend on NFFC getting relegated or not. It's really hard to know what our reach is now. We could get Broadhead to come down to L1. Who knows who would join us now? Have to wait and see.

Possibly technically a bit better but im not sure he would offer anything different to Ladapo. We need a more mobile striker than Keane so it would be a definite no from me.

Swansea paid 500 thousand what they want and get are different May go for 3 -4 million depends how much they need the money as for the Coventry player 20 million not a chance Brereton at Blackburn they couldn't get 10 million think they got offered 6 mill

Brereton Diaz was in part down to being in the last year of his contract. Was reported he's going to Villareal, but nothing confirmed yet. I think Piroe is in the last year of his contract which would help with the negotiations.
Alternatives if Hirst doesnt sign on 06:29 - May 7 with 2163 views | PioneerBlue | Face value there is a lot on completing the signing of Hirst because how he appeared to complete the jigsaw with his all energy, strength and goals. 2 of the attributes we can probably find in many forms, goals is always difficult/expensive to buy and we know there are few dead certs in this the higher you go (until you enter stratospheric levels). Lots of people seem willing to let Ladapo go but he was important to a slightly different style earlier in the season which accumulated a lot of points and may still be important in the Champ. I’m more concerned that we go in with limited Champ experience in the striker role from the outset.
