QPR away pubs 10:14 - Aug 17 with 3701 viewsSomethingBlue

Haven't been to a Town game at Loftus Road since the glory years of the Defector's Weld/other Shep Bush pubs being cool with non-home ticketed fans drinking there, which I believe is very much not the case now. Would quite like to avoid Belushis if there is somewhere else people will be gathering ... anyone have a plan?

We'll be at The Quiet Night Inn at Westbourne Park prematch. More the merrier.

The brewery has a tenuous Town link and have hosted us for meets in the past.

Planning on finding a quiet place, far from the crowds, and then making way to ground in good time with a can or two to keep me company

Last time I went, we went in the sindercombe social, but football songs weren’t allowed. And as the pub was full of football fans, that was tricky

Were you at the big Christmas day out circa - god knows what year - I think Darren Currie may have made his debut - or were you still on the Panda Pops then?

Anyhoo - Lucan top tip, go to Notting Hill.

That was 2004, that QPR day out was a celebration of my 30th birthday.

....is always my preference for QPR.

It will also be on Saturday, the fact that it's only 2 stops from White City takes an enormous amount of pressure off my rapidly weakening bladder.

I was there. I remember the big tear up outside the ground on the way out between Town and QPR fans.

Oh the Defector's Weld! Great name, great pub. Not been there for years. I appreciate this is a vacuous post, but I wanted to convey some enthusiasm for the gaff!

Easter 2000 was the 3-1 loss I think?
Was a little young then, but Wild West on the park or something?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that

Mr Nightmare!

Was that the night we ended up in Angel and saw Eddie Izzard.

Your mate Ricky had a proper bee in his bonnet.

The incident with Ricky was the home game when they came here, about 2005 I think.

I remember that but he was on the phone to them all the time after the 2004 game.

We were all in The Nags Head, over the road from Angel.

Lol, good old RM.
Since then I think I’ve only seen him at 5/10 Town games
