Support yes, I want England to win. But it surprises me how flat I feel about being 1-0 down. If they don’t turn it around, and I hope they do, then at least Town won yesterday. If Town had lost and England won, I’d still be dwelling on the Ipswich defeat. | |

I was delighted with the Town win yesterday, but I wasn't too bothered who won today. Partly because I spend a lot of the year in Spain so have an affinity for the Spanish. If it had been England v USA, I would have been keen for England to have won, but not as keen as for a Town win. |  |

Feel just slightly sad England didn't win, but Spain were far better (apart from their despicable play-acting), which may well serve to up the level of womens' football both in UK and globally - which the massive media coverage will also have done - so generally not too unhappy - though I'm finding the level of nauseating congratulations for England from supposed 'top brass' frankly embarrassing.
If Town had lost yesterday on the other hand, I'd have been gutted, it'd have spoilt my weekend (& possibly every day until we had a chance to put it right in our next fixture). [Post edited 20 Aug 2023 21:56]
