His texts said Tottenham are now very high on him and wanted him locked up before loaning again. Mentioned he was pushed off the ball too easily a year or two ago but has bulked up since. Natural finisher and apparently Spurs were hopeful for him to play under KM, the desired location for them. They are excited for him as a prospect and his future at the club.
Found that interesting at least.
I would be concerned if we have 7/8 loan players but we don't. This shouldn't worry anyone, it's a market we should be very involved in, as other top champ clubs have.

I only know of him via a Pompey fan who is a friend of mine. He didn't have a particularly good time at Pompey but maybe it was a confidence thing (didn't have a great start). League 1 also super physical so in a more technical league (like the Championship) he might shine. He got 4 goals in 34 appearances for Pompey but did also get a couple of assists. Spurs fans do seem to rate him even though he's only played twice for them (yet to score). Friend says his most memorable Pompey goal was below:
Regardless of stats- KM has identified him as a good player so I'll trust his judgement. Most of the players he has brought in so far have done well.

That's good to hear. I think ideally we'd all have preferred to find a permanent option who we could develop and who would have resale value but it seems options on that front have been unavailable or out of our price range. We needed to strengthen so a loan is the next best bet and Scarlett is clearly someone both McKenna and Spurs rate very highly. Hopefully a year on with a season in League 1 under his belt he'll be ready to kick on.
Ange really likes the look of him as well since coming in and seems like was genuinely running the rule him and whether ready for first team.
He's physically more ready after a first year in football. But will need to step up to champ. Possibly more suited to champ and McKenna style anyway but only time will tell.
I actually think he may well be more playing the role Harness has been off the bench. I think people think he is comp for Hirst/Ladapo. I think that will be a less used option. He will push/cover/come on for Broadhead more.

He and they see him as an out and out striker though I think. I'd be surprised if he's come here to play any other role than predominantly through the middle.

It's the only way we (or anyone else in the Champ) are going to be able to access young Prem talent. They won't be selling those players, especially if they're regarded as future prospects.
Given how the very big clubs hoard talented Youth nowadays, it's a market we really need to tap into.

I think he's predominantly here to come on for Hirst after 60/70 minutes but I wouldn't be surprised if there are some occasions where he comes in for Broadhead as he can play that role.
I have no issues with loan players per se. All clubs loan players, it's the way of the world and a necessity if you want players in your squad that you wouldn't otherwise be able to afford or attract. We've taken loans from Chelsea, Man United and Spurs, players that on permanent deals would likely only be possible at prices & wages way above what we can afford. In the same respect Leyton Orient have taken players off us. Its where we're at in the football food chain.
Re. Scarlett specifically it'll be interesting to see what becomes of him over the season, I don't think he'll dislodge Hirst from the starting line up but who knows. He and Hutchinson will offer good options off the bench though, I wouldn't be surprised if their contribution is similar to John-Jules last season.

A Spurs aficionado I know reckons Scarlett will be starting games this side of Christmas. He’s so highly rated. Imo him and Hutchinson will be tearing teams apart come the winter.

With more Sat-Tues weeks coming up can see a bit more rotation between starters and finishers for some of the forward slots as we get fully into the season
