When was the last time we had this many senior internationals? 09:55 - Oct 12 with 2326 viewsChampionsofInnsbruck

Baggott, Burns, Broadhead, Burgess, Mass and Donacien (6)

Whatever I feel about Morsys tweet aside, Egypt must have some great players if he's been kept out given his form for us this season. Oh, and Chaplin for England ... ;)

Not in the same season though.

Wright - England: 2000
Magilton - N Ireland: 2000-2
Scales- England: 1995 (not at Ipswich)
Hreiðarsson - Iceland : 2000-03
Amir Karić, - Slovenia: 2000
Burchill - Scotland: 2009 (not at Ipswich)
Branagan - Ireland: 1997 (not at Ipswich)

So in 2000-01 we had 5 tops?

I suspect we'd have to go back to the 80s to get close to where we are today?

1980: Frans Thijssen, Alan Brazil, Russel Osman, George Burley, Terry Butcher, Mick Mills, Allan Hunter, Paul Mariner

1981: Frans Thijssen, Alan Brazil, Russel Osman, Terry Butcher, Mick Mills, Allan Hunter, Paul Mariner, John Wark, Arnold Muhren

Although we are yet to see anyone selected for England (yet) it's impressive that we have a similar number of internationals to that of the glory days. I suspect of Harness and Taylor got a run in the team they may get a shot at playing for Ireland too, and I believe Omari can play for Jamaica again, much like my Morsy comment, if he's not being picked they must have one hell of a talent pool!

Southgate is clueless leaving Woolfie, Clarke, Williams, Chaplin and Hirst out of the England squad though. Man has got to go.

We also have Idris El Mizouni who is our player, although on loan at the moment. He is a full international, although not currently in the Tunisia squad.

But he was capped whilst an Ipswich player.

Baggott and his Indonesians are 5-0 up currently in the 1st leg of their match against the mighty Brunei.
This means they will likely qualify for the next round which is a group containing Iraq,Philippines and Vietnam which gives him and them a chance to go even deeper into the qualifiers....good for Baggott = good for us

LATE EDIT Iran, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. .... I knew i should have trusted TWTD over wiki....these are the 3 that they would play...tougher draw

It's brilliant for the players and thoroughly deserving, but there's obviously a huge qualitative difference isn't there? Our players in the glory days were representing top nations. I'm a big fan of having so many nationalities in the squad and it's easy to spot some of the international fans we've recently picked because of this.

Jamaica are desperate for Omari but he is holding back as can still play for England

He was injured for the majority of 1981 with the cruciate he suffered in early FA Cup tie, and was one of first players to ever make it back from that injury
