Christchurch Park attendance ? 13:20 - May 7 with 2339 views | stonojnr | Difficult to keep track of all the stuff going on yesterday and I had no mobile signal for most of it but did anyone see if there was an estimated crowd total they'd put out ? It looked easily double the ground capacity but you couldn't work out where I stood actually how across and deep it was I've never seen that many people in Town before since at least the Fa cup/uefa cup wins.

Christchurch Park attendance ? on 13:30 - May 7 with 2231 views | textbackup | From pics I’ve seen, across various locations (the ground, tower ramparts, the park) there must have been somewhere between 50-65k turnout.

I think there were some who managed to double up and see the buses go past Crown Pools etc, and leg it up through the park to see it arrive through the Westerfield Rd gates. But I'd agree, easily 50k people watched the parade at one point or another.

I think most of the crowd in the town would have gone through the Soane Street gates, hence the aerial pictures showing the park being more densely populated on the south side of the bus path inside the park, than the north. Probably a few hundred followed the bus or were gathered at the Westerfield Rd gate, and they were directed to the north side of the path when they followed it in [Post edited 7 May 2024 14:11]

yeah, and its impossible to tell really, I know the council publish foot fall counts from the town centre to justify whatever festival they put on draws people into the town, be interesting if that data gets shared later. it just easily felt to me more in the doubling region of current home attendances, weve had 29000ish all season, and that didnt feel like just another stand full of extra people in the park, that felt alot lot bigger. still impressive whatever the number though considering no doubt people had originally probably got other plans for a Bank Holiday Monday
