....now that the dust looks like settling, it seems like an absolutely terrible appointment is about to be made by Chelsea.

I'm undoubtedly overreacting, but surely there were better options than him available, or in that case already in the job.

Even the Leicester fans wanted him out about 3 months ago.

They really are owned by a hopeless group of individuals.

It's a really weird one. It's not like he did an amazing job at Leicester, they had a ridiculous squad for this level and they finished 1 point ahead of us.

I imagine its largely based on him having previously been Pep's assistant, followed by a year of putting theory into practice at Leicester.

....they may've looked at Arsenal and how appointing Peps assistant has taken them forward.

Not saying its gonna work out, but I reckon thats their thinking.

He is willing to do what they want, follow the model of being literally a coach and having no say in signings or sales...also being dictated to by sporting directors on tactics as well. Doesn't sound like a model that is going to be successful to me.

It just seems mad to me that they’ve got rid of Pochettinho after 1 year and when their form seemed to be picking up and replaced him with Maresca. It’s crazy and I think they’ll struggle next season.

Leicester fans I know can't believe their luck. They wanted him out. Feeling was they went up despite him rather than because of him.

I can see why Maresca has done it. It will probably a year, he'll get sacked and a nice payoff, AND gets to miss out on the Leicester points turmoil.

As for Chelsea, it seems par for the course, such a terribly run club.
