. . . what percentage of Town fans at Portman Road tomorrow for whom this will be their first ever top flight league game at the ground. All of my kids were born pre 2002, but only one vaguely remembers Town being in the top flight, and he would have only turned 6 a few months before relegation.

You'd have to say that the vast majority of anybody who are 30 and under will be seeing their first (Town) top flight game.

Enjoy it.

Yep, will be my first top flight game, all feels very surreal.

Enjoy it, but no need to remember it. We are here to stay.

Definitely will be for my son, as he is only 17! His new 3rd kit top arrived today, to add to his excitement.

Father-in-Law started coming to Portman Road around 1950 and is still a season ticket holder this season, he went to a good few away games as well in the last few years, not sure how many top flight games/seasons he has seen, he loved the Ramsey years with Crawford and Phillips scoring for fun. He was reminiscing with David Sheepshanks in fanzone two or three years ago about when they were both at White Hart Lane in 1961 singing "what a waste of money" to Jimmy Greaves, their new signing, as Crawford and Phillips scored the goals for a Town victory.

Just about removed the splinters from last season. Time for a refresh.

We go as 3 generations.

Mother is 68, she's been going to games since the 60s and has done over 1000 consecutive games, home and away.

I'm 40 and have had a season ticket for 35 years I don't go away as much as I used to but I did the away games last time we were in the premier league.

My son is almost 14, he's had a ST since 2020 he's asked to do every away game too this season and as he's on 24 points this should be possible.

Last season, doing all these games with both my mum and my son were amazing, I can't wait for this season to begin. We've seen close to 2000 games between us and travelled many millions of miles! Well, it certainly feels like many millions!

I can't wait to see the premiership through the eyes of the boy!

Mother must be doing well in the 92 club stakes surely? Bloody fair play to her.

This'll be my 4th season of supporting town during a premier league season over the past 30 years

I'm 39 so remember us in the Premier League, but this will be my first Premier League match for Ipswich. I'm now in my 19th season as a season ticket holder (since Jan 2005) and for the majority of that Ipswich were on a steady decline - UNTIL Gamechanger literally came in and changed the game!

To go from seeing us barely scraping 12,000 for some league games back in the day, to having a packed out PR tomorrow in the PREMIER LEAGUE will be amazing.

We will likely lose more than we win this season - but its going to be one hell of a ride! COYBs

For me it is probably 350 ish League/League Cup/FA Cup/UEFA Cup games while we were in the top flight.
It does not seem much but it is enough for Portman Road to seem like a second home.
Especially when you sit there and you can still see the ghosts of the old stands in the lower parts of the new stands. (Did I just call the 50 year old Cobbold a "New" stand). But I can remember the old chicken run.
Ignore me. It's just the ramblings of an old f@rt.
But it still brings a smile to my face. Especially now.

Full circle moment for me. My first town game was our last home game in the PL against Man United. I'm looking forward to adding to my 1 PL appearance tomorrow.

She only counts grounds visited if she watches us play so has the new grounds to do, she's done the old grounds

Unless you count games attended in utero, tomorrow will be my son's first top flight game supporting Ipswich (or going somewhere else as a neutral).

Unfortunately my wife isn't a season ticket holder any more so we won't be able to re-create the last top flight game we all went to, with the crucial difference of him being an actual person.

Given some of the rubbish we sat through when he was a kid, he flipping well deserves it.

My dad went to that game. Like the Arsenal fans the Spurs lot spent the game moaning that we were the worst First Division team they’d ever seen. My dad said the ITFC supporters just loved it and laughed.

I wish he was there tomorrow and his dad before him, but it doesn’t work that way. I’m just over the moon for all those who have not seen us in the top division - anyone under 30.

Children? I don’t believe there should be ‘priority’ but when it really comes to it I’ll contradict myself. The young are the future of the club. They are the priority. I hope they are as enchanted as I was all those years ago.

It’s going to be an interesting season. Tomorrow may go well, it may not and it may take us a few games to settle, but that’s ok. Just enjoy it. The moment, the game, the feeling of being in the top division after so long and for many, the first time. We can do this PL milarky.

This club is growing come what may. Tomorrow cannot come quick enough.
