I really don’t think a 7 week injury should be much of an issue, bearing in mind it’s been about 10 days already hasn’t it since that was flagged? Take into account the international break (which he’s been called up for I believe?) then he’ll hopefully be 2-3 weeks away from action surely?

My niggling doubt is twofold tbh. Achilles injuries have a reputation for being more persistent than others. Then there are many amateur observers who feel he hasn't been the same physically since his horrendous ACL rupture. Still I'm excited by what he could be for us, more than a couple of other names who feel below the standard required.

Still a big risk. I think if there is a deal to be done (and if rumours Hirst is nearly back is true) and we are struggling for others then it can still work. E.g. if the agreement is a reduction in wages paid by us to factor in the period he can't play then fair enough I'd rather have hkm then not.

Axel had big injury issues before he came here didn’t he. Was eased in slowly and now seems to be a mainstay of the team and injury free.

I think we could easily see the same with Broga.

Yep but it was a long time before Tuanzebe was able to impact if we are honest and I think he probably needed the full season and maybe even still more to come from him as he builds and builds having only had small amount of games in his career. This is loan I'm a position we need some impact.

As I say if it's structured right then better than not.

We eased Tuanzebe into the team, handling him carefully. I'm not sure if we have the time to do the same for Broja. We really need someone who can hit the ground running.

If KM regards him that highly that he'll take him with the injury, then I'd back him.

It seems as if he has been one of our top targets all summer. Yes, it may go pear-shaped, as a small number of transfers do, but this seems to be a deal KM really doesn't want to bail on, so we have to play hard ball to mitigate the rehab time.

We don't have all the details of course. But there's a world of difference between taking someone on loan for the season with, and without, the obligation to purchase at a massive fee in the future.

If he has an injury, I'd be uncomfortable with a £30m obligation. However, if the talks have re-ignited because Chelsea are desperate to reduce numbers, and just want him out on loan without any further obligations, then great. He's on a long enough contract for him to retain his value, after all. And if he does well for us, then his value could even eclipse that £30m, so it wouldn't be mad from Chelsea's point of view.

It all depends on the terms. This is a contractual negotiation, and it's a bit silly to have a vehement opinion on the potential contract without seeing the potential contract.

If it was just a loan signing, maybe, but a £30m obligation to buy means it's a real concern if the injury ends up being more persistent.
