What is the record number of matches for getting to a 5 booking suspension?

3 in 4 games for Morsy now, despite him not being especially aggressive in any game. I thought yesterday's booking was really harsh, especially that early in the game.

Edit: I would add that I thought the ref was decent overall yesterday, and didn't get too much wrong at all.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Did look a little harsh but he’d have been booked at some point. Reckon there’s a chance he gets the record number of bookings this year (without looking at what that number is).

I was terrified last season about morsy getting booked, much less so this year. not that he isnt immense and our best CM but we have much better cover this year in Phillips and Cajuste. Don't think you are far off but there are some players ala joelinton who pick up just as many. Just had a look and 5 players are currently on 3 with lots on 2

He made three or four fouls in the first five minutes so I wasn’t surprised when he was booked.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Big call to say he is our best midfielder with Phillips around

Phillips has looked great but Morsy knows the system inside out and I think thats why i have him ahead of the others. maybe that will change as the season goes on, phillips sure is an exciting prospect!

Felt his booking was a little harsh this weekend but that said, he needs to get smarter for the Premier League. He was throwing himself about too early in the game for me and there’s far too many players looking to fake injury this year.

In League One or the Championship players would’ve just tried to retaliate later but from what I’ve seen so far in the PL, it seems the norm to play to the ref and the cameras as much as possible.

Morsy also seems to have the amazing ability to turn the tap on and off for yellow cards. When we’ve been worried before he’s gone massive stretches on four bookings and played even better. Makes you wonder why he gets them in the first place.

Doesn't sound like Morsy 😉

I know that was then, but it could be again..

By my googling, he now has 47 yellow cards for Ipswich in the 3 years he's been here and 0 red cards.

I'm starting to think he uses the yellow card to make a tactical foul during a game and uses his experience not to get a second one. And he doesn't mind giving Cajuste/Luongo/Taylor a couple of games while he is suspended to give himself a rest and recharge the batteries.
