EF would be a great addition, and probably a step up in quality on GH too

Enciso Frimmers! When you asked who often plays in the middle of the park with a similar skill set to Omari, I think Enciso is a great example. Tricky player who loves to run with the ball. Admittedly he isn't performing at the level to hold down a Brighton spot, but both would be exciting pick-ups for someone.

Guarantee both players would change their minds as to which club they wanted to be at once they’d been on loan here, under McKenna!

Sure there would be plenty of interest in both.

It's the fact that they'd be moving out to get 'ample game time' that would make me question whether we'd be able to do a deal with Brighton.

With the players we've already got, they wouldn't be nailed-on starters unless there were injuries, and they'd be used more in rotation. I seem to recall that Brighton were a bit miffed about how we used Sarmiento last season, so I can't imagine we'd be top of their list in terms of clubs that could give their players plenty of minutes.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Didn't Ferguson just score his first goal in 13 months?

We don't necessarily need a goal-scoring 9, but his record has been terrible in the last year. Apart from the lack of goals, is he playing well ( and fit)?
He seems to have gone from hottest property around to surplus in the space of a year.
Not sure he'd get ample game time here. Think a move to the championship or even L1 would give him more football.

He's had a couple of injury problems over the last 18 months. Only played 101 minutes in the PL this season and 1,365 minutes last season - 6 goals puts him on track for circa 15 goals over a full season.

If he's fit (as he is now) he is a fantastic player. He certainly won't be going anywhere near L1.

Surely that would mean Delap gets dropped, or moved from his favourite position if we went for Ferguson

If Brighton want the players to have ample game-time you would assume any contract would include a guarantee they're selected by default to start games.

Doesn't make sense why you would drop a player to start an inferior player simply to get them march fit for another club

From our point of view, we want someone on par with Delap or certainly better than Hirst though don't we? We wanted to spend £20m on Latte Lath on deadline day and spent a couple of weeks trying to get Broja done so I don't think we are going to mess about this January in that position. We aren't going to be going for someone that isn't going to really push Delap for his place or who can't be used interchangeably without a real drop off.

I think we need to be careful with Delap. He's been exceptional but he's 21 and had quite a nasty injury last season. Need to manage him properly. And we need to make sure we are well covered if he did pick up an injury.
