Not just the players who are finding the Premier League above their level. 16:17 - Dec 8 with 3691 views | NeedhamChris | There are enough places on the bench to accommodate either Greaves or Woolfenden to go 5 at the back. Poor subs that didn't offer us anything. A slightly less poor man's Russell Martin on this season alone. Edit: to be clear, more than enough credit in the bank. But how much worse off by now do people think we'd be had he gone to Brighton? [Post edited 8 Dec 2024 16:19]

Confidence and belief by Ryorry 8 Dec 2024 16:19Is it just me, or has he become uncharacteristically inflexible this season compared with our promotion ones? His policy of not having a CB on the bench does seem rigid & risky. [Post edited 8 Dec 2024 16:32]

The Russell Martin comment is borne out of emotion, but other than that what are you disagreeing with?

I'm not saying he should be replaced. I'm just saying he is finding the PL above his level so far. Do you think he's having a successful season?

There is no shortage of managers at home and abroad who would have wanted to manage us given the chance. Could they have done worse than 9 points out of 45?

For £5m a year we'd have had a lot of choices. To be clear - you believe there's no-one out there at all that could have got 9 from 45?

Not that I agree with the overall nature of the OP, but Graham Potter for one.

The same Graham Potter who is currently being paid £10M a year by Chelsea? The same Graham Potter who has (allegedly) been offered better and turned it down. He thinks he is a top 4 manager. No way he would have come here in the summer.

He's ruddy deluded if he thinks he's a top four manager! But I can see why he'd hold on to his Chelsea paycheck for as long as possible.

It's exactly how it works. Chris has made an assertion, it's up to him to back up that assertion. SB

Van Nistelrooy The Brighton manager Moyes Southgate Potter Ljinders Rodgers Marsch And many many more. I'd still choose McKenna, but your insistence that he's outperforming what any one could possibly be achieving here is nonsense.

With a L1 squad who total over performed the season before. This squad is in a massive transition stage and a very, very quick learning curve. Nobody can say whether a different manager could have done better or worse, so it is a pointless argument from the both of you. The only name put forward by someone else was Graham Potter, which was laughable to be honest. It isn't just the players who are learning at this level. McKenna will make mistakes, of course he will, but we hope that he learns from them. To bomb him out at this stage would be a massive mistake in my opinion.

That was an emotional response to a terrible Bristol Rovers game that I've owned as wrong many times. Today may well be the same, I'll be happier next year in the Championship again
