He at least was trying to go for the ball, Morsy just kicked him for little reason.

Leif and Morsy with two incredibly stupid pens given away on 16:05 - Jan 5 with 1847 views | cbower | I love Morsy but that was criminal. Wilson was away from him but not free from our defenders in any way shape or form. To kick out like that and catch Wilson in the box was just nonsensical and has cost us the game. Davis is prone to an unnecessary lazy leg sometimes. Would have taken a point but gutted now not to have 3. [Post edited 5 Jan 16:07]

Leif and Morsy with two incredibly stupid pens given away on 16:07 - Jan 5 with 1777 views | LankHenners | Davis one was annoying but a result of a tired attempt to stab the ball away - that late in the game the panic sets in a bit when the striker gets a bit of space away from you. The Morsy one was really stupid - why on Earth is he going in like that from behind ffs.

This is the issue for me, why in God's name is he charging up the pitch in the 90th min. So naive! Was then too tired to get back in. Individual errors will cost us this season.

Have you watched us for the last 3 years? This is what Davis does and what McKenna expects him to do. There is no naivety from Davis getting up field. The only bit to criticise Davis is sticking a poor leg out. [Post edited 5 Jan 16:12]

That is how we play Davis “most of the time”, but I’m absolutely certain that McKenna would not have enjoyed seeing him positioned at the top of the pitch, in the 90th minute, away from home, with a weakened squad, flouting game management priorities, in favour of scoring another goal, to then watch him unable to recover his defensive position and give away a penalty that ultimately cost us 2 points. It was terrible decision making by Davis and the team were subsequently punished, you get away with that in lower leagues, you don’t in the Prem.
Leif and Morsy with two incredibly stupid pens given away on 16:40 - Jan 5 with 1416 views | heavyweight | I don't think you can be too critical of either. We defended solidly for the whole match with Fulham in and around our penalty area for a good proportion of it. Morsy's wasn't a lunge or anything like that just a bit inadvertant contact it seemed to me and Leif was just a tired challenge, which can happen after a tough game when we'd been under pressure for a considerable part of it.

Davis doesn't stick a poor leg out if he's set defensively and not just back from an 80 yard run. You say thats how we play What prem game when 1-2 ahead in the 90th minute away from home have you seen other prem clubs fullbacks making overlaps. [Post edited 5 Jan 16:42]

As Mark Ashton has said a few times: "What has got us here, won't always get us there." The idea we can just play the same way as we did in League One and the Championship where we had a lot better players than most sides in the Premier League where most teams have a lot better players than us, is just naïve. At this level you get punished every single time, in the leagues below you get away with it, some of our supporters don't seem to have cottoned on to that yet. Part of being successful is about adapting.

Thing is people saying but we almost scored. That means nothing because we didn't and because we didn't the effects of our attack led to their penalty. Of course if we score we don't think anything of it. But thats the risk of doing it. So when you don't score and the risk doesn't come off then of course its right to say it wasn't a risk worth taking when you already had the lead.

This. Rushing 5 players forward in the 90th minute whilst 2-1 up away from home is naive. We didn't need a 3rd. We needed to manage the game.

Davis recovered his defensive position; he was in a good place. Then he stupidly dangled a leg for no reason.

Even if we're trying to manage the game out it doesn't mean we'll definitely succeed. If we hadn't pushed for a third, and then we'd still conceded a late equaliser anyway, would you have been delighted with a point when we were still able to stretch them out as we did?

He wasn't set because of his run back. He got back to a defensive position of course but his body shape and how he was set would have been different.

If fulham scored off the back of breaking our back 5 then yes you'd have to applaud them. For them to score off the back of us attacking when we really didn't need to that is different.

Disagree. Both were very stupid fouls that didn't need to be made. A tackle didn't need to be made for either. I'm happy enough with a draw, but after gaining the initiative twice it's very disappointing not to win after putting ourselves in such a good position. Morsy and Davis definitely owe the rest of the team a big apology. Morsy's wasn't inadvertent contact. He fully intended to put his studs on the back of his leg.

My personal opinion is we should have subbed Townsend for Davis the moment Traore came on. But I don't think it had anything to do with how his body was set and more just him having a lapse, which is something he is prone too all too often. I liked us remaining on the front foot when we could, even at 2-1. We're not a side who can just sit on a lead. We were centimetres from making it 3-1. If it weren't for two stupid challenges we would have got three points. But trying to defend with ten men is infuriating, and we don't have quality to manage it.

He never recovered his position, just did his best to get his body somewhere near the ball/player, but wasn’t set correctly and subsequently was easily turned and put a lazy leg out to top it off. It was a poor decision to push up the pitch as he did, if he was in possession of the ball, you’d understand it, but he busted a gut to make a run for Jack Clarke, a player that loses the ball 9 out of 10 times he is in possession of it, crazy play IMO and I’m pretty sure the gaffer will be pretty miffed about it too.
