For those of you who watched Wolves v Forest last night.... 08:32 - Jan 7 with 2998 views | ArnieM | Not sure what people thought of NF. I've watched them quite a bit this season, and I do like their approach. I hope McKenna adopts some of their approach as I think it would suite our players. The commentator said NF spend a large amount of time essentially being " quiet" in a game. Just remaining solid, keeping their shape, and essentially conserving energy, before intermittently springing forwards into counter attack. Just about everytime NF did thst last night they scored. Wolves looked very dangerous tbf ( without their best player btw), yet NF dealt with it. You can't fault their tactic as a means to winning games. They're 3rd. What i really admire about NF is they slick, fluidity when they do attack. Its so well drilled and every player is moving forwards at the right time and the pattern of play as they move forward with pace reminds me of Town under SBR / Burley in the use of triangle passing patterns all over the pitch. It's lively to watch.

As this is pretty much what what we did vs Chelsea and Fulham among other games this season. Forest just have better players than we do to get more wins.

"Forest just have better players than we do to get more wins." My thoughts exactly, doing the same thing with better players. They've recruited well.

They have. Also spending £50m on one player sort of helps. Although they are an example of gambling with PSR, failing it and taking a small points deduction and then thriving off that gamble. They do have a lunatic of an owner though, so you feel it's just one brain fart from falling down

Nothing flash or complicated, but very effective if you can get the balance right. The 3 behind Wood are always going to be a threat. They've got quality and pace to hurt you. Wood's form this season helps massively but his link up play and target man role is very effective. I think we've shown signs of playing in a similar way to them recently.

They have quality wngers on both sides so can still keep their defensive platform intact. That’s a key difference imo. And yes, better players overall. I like MGW - he’s an excellent number 10. We’re not too different in style though.

MGW is a very good number 10. Very good ball carrier. I like the lad Anderson. He can't be far away from an England call up. Tidy with the ball.

For those of you who watched Wolves v Forest last night.... on 10:20 - Jan 7 with 2159 views | RIPbobby | Forest were very fortunate to not concede 3 in the first half. On paper the result looks a one sided game, but in reality it was mostly wolves pressing.

I wonder if KM’s plan was for J Clarke to be the attacking supply line on the left rather than Leif? But as Jack hasn’t cut the mustard quite yet he’s had to keep using Leif. Him going forward certain leaves a big gap at times and it’s clear that other teams have spotted this fairly big flaw that opens up every now and again each game.

Exactly. That was the first half against Fulham. We actually created better chances, they just kept on sending in crosses and we headed them away. In the second half they improved, but they were wasteful and only managed to score because of two poor decisions by Morsy and Davis. Davis had a bit more of an excuse because he must have been knackered. Forest weren't that good against us, but they are superior to us in game management and getting results. They taught us a lesson like Everton and Palace did.

It was mentioned in commentary that they only have 1 player from their promotion squad - which means that they must have replaced 24/25 players in just 3 years!! That - unfortunately - is what it takes to build a PL squad. And they had a couple of close shaves with relegation as well.
