It’s amazing they’ve ended up in this state after a season of PL money and parachute payments. Some serious mis-management on and off the pitch going on there. [Post edited 6 Jan 22:09]

Would we get rid of McKenna if this was our record in the Championship next year?

I think we would, couldn’t see MA accepting that.

Different time, different ownership but George Burley was given the boot the boot the season after relegation after a poor start. He was a proper full on footballing legend for Town too.

Steady on, one time loanee Mark McGuinness scored their goal...but it wasn't enough to counter the Colback effect.

We have better owners, better players and better manager than Luton but this just shows how much more difficult promotion would be second time around, without the momentum.

Teams have picked apart their squad, us included and it's very difficult to go through a relegation season having that mentality, losing your best players and leaders and being ready for a promotion push. They have exceeded expectations though, because I would have assumed that they would be mid-table.

Promotion would still be easier if we got relegated, because we would have such different finances. If KM stayed, we'd be the favourites to go straight back up. If we were looking for a new manager, you'd expect a good appointment from MA, and a decent manager will be able to get a tune out of the squad with some good additions to replace the inevitable departures. We aren't going to get relegated because the club is a mess and the dressing room has turned. The other factor is that Luton were not that great a team, because they only went up via the playoffs.

They sold there best players and didn’t replace them They haven’t invested there parachute money - and that’s the reason they find themselves where they were They lost Barkley for starters
