Not sure, but just seen the the sheff wed player had a 7 day recall agreement in that, so potentially IF Doak is to happen, it maybe contain similar terms, so expect some movement on that front IF we are indeed still pushing for him.

I'm probably in the minority but if we've got another £25m to throw around I would rather it was on a #9. Not just a 'can do a job better than AAH' and come in as 3rd choice, but bigger ambitions than that. At the least can be one who relegates Hirst to 3rd choice, at best someone who can even push Delap. Sounds unthinkable and it would take something special but why not, and in turn that would give us Delap as an option on the right where he's played before.
No idea who that player is mind you.

Is £25m on Doak and Evan Ferguson loan (one example) not potentially the best option?
At least if we buy Doak he’ll likely stay with us in the champ if we were to go down. Whereas I can’t see a top £25-£30m striker capable of challenging Delap wanting to stay if we’re playing in the champ next year.
I suppose the club are weighing up those options right now and deciding where the money is best spent and how to protect the club in the mid-longer term.

If we were to bring in those two it would be the best transfer window under Ashton.
And that’s saying something.

Igor Jesus. Just a hunch that he'll be our new record signing.

The striker is a really difficult one. If you're offered the chance to come in you look at Delap, his form and attributes and you think it's tough competition, though as a pro you should back yourself. The flip side is if we go down there is surely no way we keep him, even if we don't you expect a big bid gets him if he's inclined to move so a bit of patience and in theory you're 1st choice though if we got mega money who knows where that goes towards.
Equally Hirst, I feel like some are being a jit dismissive of Kim. He's been injured a lot which increases the need for additional cover and has to be a worry but we bought him on the belief he could become a prem player, still young and perhaps without injury this season he'd have a fee more. Think he has done well when he had come on
So finding a player at that price point prepared to come in and compete could be challenging. I think it's tough for the club and a loan may be the way we go there
As we are more or less back where started at the beginning of the season ( Philogene for Ogbene & Godrey for Tuanzebe) - a 9 must be very top of the list.

Jon Walters mk2 for me. Starts on the right wing most of the time running all over left backs and does the #9 job when needed.
