A wonderful talent and a legend, whoever you support.

R.I.P.

I trained with Denis Law as a ten year old just before a warm up game for the World Cup 1974.

We were staying with my parent friends in Frankfurt and Scotland were playing against West Germany. My Dad's friend had connections and took us to watch Scotland train at the stadium the day before the game.

Denis Law had been messing about so the manager told him to run around the the race track for a few laps on his own. I started to run alongside him and ADenis Law told me to join him on the track.

A lovely bloke.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

not seen much of him just some clips of some finishing and he looked dynamite in the box.

A proper legend, with Best, Charlton in the Holy Trinity. Hope United get back to those days as the premier league needs a strong man united.

I was lucky enough to see him play, though like some of the other ‘greats’ I was a little too young to truly appreciate it. But Law was a fantastic player. One of the ‘holy trinity’. An absolutely deadly forward.

Denis Law was one of the early Radio ‘Pundits’. If you listened to Radio 2 with Peter Jones and friends (the best commentators by a mile) in the mid seventies, you’d sometimes on midweek games get insight from Denis Law. Always interesting and a good sense of humour. Honest and told it as it was.

I hope the game recognises his immense contribution. RIP.

A genuine icon in the game. RIP

My first ever game attended at Portman Road was against Man Utd in 1969. Dennis Law was playing that afternoon. Saw him play on a couple of occasions after that too. Great player alongside Charlton and Best.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Some players transcend the generations.

We’ve got a number of our own, but he is absolutely one from the wider world of football.

My dad worked with a chap who took photos for Ipswich on a part-time basis (such people weren't employed full time in those days), so I have a large black and white photograph of Dennis Law (as well as individual photos of Best and Charlton) from a game at Portman Road I attended when I was about 10.

He was a true legend, a lovely man and a great character. And very sad he missed out on the European Cup.

RIP

Saw him play at PR in my very very early years. Must have been 1969. Can’t remember much. Decent lad for a Scot!

A wonderful player, sometimes overshadowed by Charlton & Best, but he won the the Ballon d'Or before either of them

Watching him live was a joy, watching that special United team was a joy.
He had glue on his boots I'm sure as the ball seem to stick to his foot.
Tough as they come, but he would accept it when it was given back.

He always gave a rueful smile to whoever clattered him, as if to say, you can have that one, but the next one is mine. Always a joy to watch.
