Looks a proper left back. Hopefully he can cement his place as Davis has been a liability this season on too many occasions.

Davis has been awful all season as has Omari but you are one of the “just enjoy the ride whilst we get relegated” brigade. No Ipswich player should ever be criticised in your blinkered world. | | | |

He has done well in the first half but so has Davies at numerous times this season, making this a rather stupid post.
Over a bigger sample size of games I am sure we would become aware of some of the flaws in Townsend's game also, and then you and others would probably be calling him a liability as well. [Post edited 15 Feb 17:02]

As said, so many times, you can’t have Leif’s effectiveness in attack without leaving gaps in defence. He’s not got a teleport. His defending, especially 1v1, has come on leaps and bounds this season, but he’s often caught up field. | | | |

I think the issue is we need to change our mindset now. We need to be more defensive for the rest of the season - even against Southampton we should have stuck with a back three. It's where our best performances have come from of late. And, if we're looking to stay solid, Townsend is the better option as he seems more effective defensively. Davis is stronger going forward. | |
