Perhaps I'm being simplistic but the reason to me is that we are relegated all bar mathematically and Delap is leaving bar some absolute chaos.
Giving Hirst game time is sensible but his record of keeping fit is basically non-existent so using them interchangeably is perfect. |  |

In the last home game when delap somersaulted over and landed badly he injured his rib. He is continuing to play through the pain. It is sensible to play hirst instead of delap. We have no other strikers. What options do we have.

Hirst to MOTD in a few posts. I thought MOTD had finished years ago, I don’t know when last watched it. Hirst is a beast and will hopefully be a big part of our route back to EPL (let’s assume this EPL will still be our goal when this season is tidied up). | |

Plus whilst I don't wish injury on anyone... an injury that sees Delap injured over the summer and maybe the start of the season could see him lining up for us until January. Can you imagine him the Championship? It would be a big boon to our promotion push. | | | |
