I accepted we were down after that game. There were still plenty of games to play, but failing to beat a team as bad as that was quite a kick in the sack.

Saints was a horror show. And drawing with leicestr the way we did was ridiculously bad and felt like a defeat. Meh. None of it matters now. Roll on August!

Yeah, thought we were actually much better against them this time than last year despite the different results (and very different feelings!) but the lack of confidence and execution to put away a team as crap as that put the writing on the wall.

And hard to see Burnley and Leeds and the playoff winner doing any better. The prem have their closed shop now so hope they enjoy having Bournemouth in it. Fk en

That’s actually a good point, they were significantly better than us in the Sarmiento game.

Leeds might give it a half decent run. Burnley and playoff winner might as well not bother.

West Ham may give the promoted three some hope unless they sort themselves out over the summer. And Wolves if they lose Pereira. But it'll probably end up similar to this season and last for them.

We’ve got what we deserved for the full season. The only mini spell where we were diddled by officials/VAR was the Leicester game and preceding Brentford match. But appreciate I’m talking about maybe 3 more points so pretty meaningless really. Bit unfortunate with injuries given overall squad quality but again marginal effect in the end.

With a bit of luck and decisions going our way, we'd maybe be on 30 points and still going down, but you're right that we're in the position we deserve to be.

But it only takes a decent material appointment to get them out of trouble. I'm not convinced there's any manager who could have kept any of the promoted teams up this year.

Probably not. I think someone else could have done a better job than Juric and van Nistelrooy but even that wouldn't have been enough.

Just don't see who Leeds compete with ? West Ham are far and away the 4th worst team in the Prem. They have Kilman, Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen as their spine. It is Insanity. The team who finishes 16th might win the Europa League. Mental.

It's easy to forget but we looked ok against Manchester City as well until they opened the scoring. It certainly wasn't playing out like today or Newcastle, where we looked out of our depth. But then the floodgates opened.

Saints have been the defining nail in the coffin of our last two premier leagie seasons.

Ironically Leicester would've probably have done better by sticking with Cooper.
