Enjoy, don't expect to stand still. Saw them for the second time at the end of May, after watching all of the Manic Street Preachers set at Bearded Theory I managed to catch an hour of them straight after and thoroughly enjoyed it. Second time for me, previous was a full set at WOMAD pre-pandemic (great recommendation by Melford on TWTD to bone up on their albums) and was another danceathon. If anything they are even better now, have a full kit drummer onstage and a couple of rappers, somehow the beats are even heavier, as if they have been lined with lead and double thickness at the bottom.
I love Leftfield, they're brilliant live, you'll have an amazing time, im sure you already have but if not listen to their album Tourism to whet your appetite! Oh and don't forget to drop 45 mins before!😉😂

Leftism and Rhythm and Stealth are both all time classics, albeit very different albums.
On a related note, I'll be seeing Underworld headlining green man festival next month.
I always preferred Leftism but two solid bits of work there.
Never saw Underworld. I know there's more to them than just "Lager Lager Lager" but that tune annoyed me so much back in the day I neglected to explore.
It's very rare for me to go to any gig that's not The Prodigy these days, but I'll make an exception for Leftfield. Plus the next Prodigy oppo isn't until April so I needed to fill the gap.

Underworld massively underrated imho on the basis of that track which is completely different to much of what they did. It got them popularity and more visibility (and money) of course.

Exactly this. Born Slippy isn't their best tune by a long way, albeit I like it more now than I did at the time.
Cowgirl is the all time big tune of theirs imo. Either that or mmmmmm skyscraper.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

The best part of the 90s is the big crossover between guitar stuff and the dance scene. All the Indie Kids took pills and went raving. Leftfield, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, The Orb, Underworld, Death In Vegas, Lo Fidelity All-Stars, Sabres Of Paradise.
Charlatans, Manics, Spiritualized having dance remixes on the B sides. Even Noel Gallagher on vocals for a couple of Chemical Brothers tunes.

It was all more of a big free-for-all back then.
Yes when I entered high school around 1993 you had the kids into rave ("happy hardcore") and the kids into metal and the goths and greebos. They did not mix. By the time I was at 6th form that had changed somewhat.

Death In Vegas - The Contino Sessions Lo-Fi's - How To Operate with a Blown Mind
2 under appreciated but stunning albums.

I was at 6th form 92 to 94, and hated (really hated) dance/rave/hardcore music at that time, but by the end of the 90s my head had been turned upside down by all the acts listed by Melford, plus all the big beat stuff (before it got sh1t). The switch was helped by the fact that the combined forces of nu metal, post grunge and the landfill indie that was churned out post britpop really spoiled guitar music for a few years.
Went from someone who despised dance music, to DJing in clubs all over the UK during the 00s. Funny how things change eh?

I’m a few years older than you then dubbers, the outdoor rave scene took over my world at the start of the 90s. Unbelievable years.
Have you listened to the new death in vegas record? The title track is superb, and the song title, while my machines gently weep, is worth the cover price on its own.
