Well.

First. Don goodman fk you. That pen was for you.

Second.

Tough watch. We look a long way from our promotion season. However I think it'll come. Think we had some answers to some questions tonight but to get a draw we will take.

Lots to work on

Ogbene. Doesn't really work if we don't put the balls down the line. Think he needs a Chaplin to become a chappers burns partnership imo.

Azor.. not a great debut but got better 2nd half

Clarke... really can't seem to get the best out of him. But I think working with davis doesn't help. That left side of philogene and Davis was better

All in all. Horrid watch. But I did like that we used some good old prem gamesmanship to slow the game down. Only issue with that is we're used to a fast pace game.

Always. New players really really important. We know that.

Only thing I also wish KM picked up on and will be talking to the team about. You never put the ball high down the middle. It takes just one header sent back your way and you're in trouble.. hence their goal. Palmer needs to find corners. And greaves needs to learn the Burgess whip ball down the line.

Vastly improved down the right when Young came on.

I think we've massively missed Burns since his injury. He's a very intelligent presser, aggressive and excellent at timings his runs.

Brum are an aggressive team with some good players and the momentum of part season. That we've managed to salvage something from that shipwreck of a performance is positive.

Cajuste needs to be in this team asap.

I miss Burgess and Morsy.

Definitely. Johnson really doesn't do it for me unfortunately. No matter how many games he plays he doesn't get better.

Not sure our pre-season prepared us for games like that and there are going to be plenty more of them this season.

We would perhaps have been better off playing the like of Wycombe & Cambridge United.

We played like a team that had 22 pts from last 38 games.

Would normally expect 11 changes for the cup game but after tonight think should stsrt with at least 5 of the outfield players that ended the game. We could do with two Cam Humphreys as a case for playing him as full bsck and in midfield. Young should have started tonight at RB.

BBC were as confused as the rest of us, they showed us playing 4-4-1-1. Guess shows how disjointed / unprepared we were. Things can only get better and a point is a point.

With respect, not sure any friendly can prepare a team for that kind of atmosphere and intensity.

Having said that, we were sh1te - no getting away from it.

They subbed a striker for a midfielder and a winger for a right back, I think that tells you everything you needed to know there

Eventually they paid for it

Should Town, as favourites for promotion, be desperately trying to slow down a game against Birmingham? They weren't very good, apart from their desire & intensity, but we offered nothing.

Listened to TalkSPORT and watched back from minute 60 because I’m travelling.

Difficult start negotiated. Hirsty, that’s my boy.

In all aspects patients is required. ITFC is off the back of a very difficult season performance and confidence wise. Our preseason and transfer business has been less than ideal. It might be one of the least cohesive starts we’ve seen in a few seasons but a hangover is completely unexpected. The first four are going to be muddling through and helping provide a baseline to work with, it’s clear we are not coming straight out of the blocks at this stage. Title winning seasons are earner and built, not given. Last night we earned under the circumstances we face, we didn’t lose heads, we kept in the game, we finished stronger, and now we are building.

Agree with a lot that you have said. I’d also add that the Birmingham players wanted it more than ours, we struggled to keep possession and created nothing. Let’s be brutally honest, Birmingham looked a better team than we did. Early days, so not going to get too angst about it, but there’s plenty of work for KM and his coaching staff to do over the coming weeks.

Nevertheless, I’d have taken the point before the game.
