Just one more out this Window then? 19:45 - Aug 16 with 1083 views | BlueOsterClub | I think just the AAH to go this window on a permanent move. Unless a huge offer came in for Leaf I can't see him going. This does not include younger players going out on loan like Baggot , Barbrock or Humphries. Not that I expect those three to go on loan but perhaps one or two will. One to three players to come in not counting Ivan Azon if things go well.

Feels like Walton needs a new club. Barely played last couple of years

Just one more out this Window then? on 20:12 - Aug 16 with 855 views | SuffolkPunchFC | Assume Azon arrives, and Townsend isn’t registered due to the long term injury, the squad is 26. So we need to lose 1 already, and 1 for every additional signing
Just one more out this Window then? on 20:12 - Aug 16 with 857 views | _clive_baker_ | Can’t see Davis going. I’d agree AAH and a couple of the fringe players we actively look to get loans for. Maybe Woolf but wouldn’t surprise me at all if he doesn’t, no contract worries there. 2 or 3 big incomings I would think, not least in CM and an Omari replacement. Be interesting to see who we can land, I suspect we’re aiming high.

Reiss Nelson? Someone we targeted last season and didn't get. We don't give up on players we've tried and failed to sign before .

We may well be aiming high, but as we've seen, some players won't want to join us in the Championship. We need to be realistic as well. Next 2 weeks will be fascinating, and Sept 1st could be carnage.

I'm not sure it's that hard to create room. In all likelihood, Burns wont' be registered for the first 6 months. He's already said Chieo is having to play more regularly than he'd want so I can't see him wanting to rush Wes back, in a similar way and in a period where we need physical resilience. KM confirmed club/ player were working on a Baggot loan deal and when Azon comes in AAH will be gone. So with Azon that takes us to 23 with the possibility Humphreys goes out on loan as well. Can also see a few U21 players coming on a permanent in a developmental style similar Omari in 23/24 so that would give us a decent bit of wiggle room. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Was Nelson a target in the true sense of the word? Or was he more a subject of our end-of-window thrashing around, having put all our eggs in the Broja basket up until that point?

Burns is expected back in October - I suspect we’ll register him rather than miss out on him unnecessarily for 4 months. He’s likely to be a huge player for us when back. Agree that AHH goes. The OP said they didn’t expect Baggot , Barbrock or Humphries to go out, which was what I was responding to. Most or all of those need to go out to make room for anymore incoming players (unless we buy an U21 for the squad - which I think is unlikely).
Just one more out this Window then? on 20:40 - Aug 16 with 604 views | burnbudgiesburn | Will we register Button? Seems a waste to have 3 keepers in a 25 man squad - was useful to have Slicker taking that 3rd spot as an u21 until now.

Yeah I understand what you were getting at. I thought you were trying to say it was going to be tricky to create space with the 1 in 1 out comment. Re Wes, October would be 9 months on from the injury so yes he could theoretically be back, however there are so many other factors at play with an injury like this. He's got to get up to full match fitness, he's got to come through U21 games and he's a pace reliant player so he need's absolute confidence in his pace and ability to step off that knee to be effective. We've also recruited and will recruit another player into that position so KM will have options in that position. For what it's worth I'd love to have him back playing ASAP. However, it's a tricky injury and if it's a choice between him maybe playing a part in 50% of the games between now and January vs someone ready to come in and make the team better now, I'd the latter every day of the week.

Don’t disagree with anything you say. The other tricky aspect to Burns though, is that it’s likely going to be difficult to sign a Burns stand in for only 6 months. Most clubs would look to loan out for a full season. Just another angle that makes the choice with Burns’ registration challenging.
Just one more out this Window then? on 21:00 - Aug 16 with 482 views | hadleighboyblue | Agree AAH out , really like the look of the young Norwegian forward
Just one more out this Window then? on 21:04 - Aug 16 with 449 views | Garv | I think Walton goes. If Palmer ends up being first choice and stays fit all year Walton will have gone three years playing a handful of league matches. He must be a little fed up. He could be first choice for anyone mid table and above, and I imagine we would have someone in mind as an able back up if he went. Wouldn't surprise me.

Unfortunately for Wes, it's not going to be a stand in. It's going to be someone gunning for his role like the Norwegian that we've just been linked with. So long as his injury heals well, I have full confidence he will be back contributing at the level we know he can, just a question of time as we have both acknowledged. Will be exciting to have him back when the time does come!
