Wasn't Greaves fault, he was bailing out Neil who over the past few months has been possibly the worst central midfielder I've seen under McKenna. Started off well but has been a total liability in almost every match for ages now.

We clearly were. No players dropping all the way back for their keeper's kick / throw,

I mean we didn't need to be. EDIT: I get it didn't read like that but that's what I meant. [Post edited 28 Apr 21:31]

Greaves had to make that challenge . No blame there.

No, there's so much focus on Greaves, people forget the weakness in possession which led up to the incident.

We just needed to boot it clear and regroup.

I would have to watch it back but I don't think lunging in like that was needed. Just close the man down and prevent the shot. We (including Greaves) have been excellent at that and blocking shots this season.

I think Greaves did have to make that challenge or else it would have been slipped through to their guy on the right, in on goal. Personally I thought he got the ball, but by the second half the ref was deciding to give them the benefit of the doubt every time. Just like their free kick a few minutes earlier for Nunez ‘foul’ on their Brazilian diver when he got nowhere near him.

One of our biggest weaknesses this season has been the inability not get rid of the ball from the edge our our box. We try to pass out when there is literally no one to pass to and run into a cul de sac.

It happened 5 times in the lead up to that freekick. And this is why its bugging me how we didnt manage that spell. We went into the quite often done this season at times mode of scoring against ourselves. We just needed to regroup and calmly get through that spell instead of trying to pass it through gaps that weren't there or walk it past 3 players. Its fine people are happy with a draw because they think saturday is an easy 3 points but I dont think its gonna be easy so will focus on the game just played and we got that important first goal and didnt manage it well.

I think he got the ball but it was studs up and from distance. I thought it was a free kick and yellow card when I saw it live. Their players were trying to argue it was a red (but without the passion that accompanies when they genuinely think it is). The ref appeared to give himself some thinking time before producing the yellow. As I say, I would have to watch it back again to see how necessary it was.

I agree that it was always likely to be given with the home crowd and players on the refs back. Most frustrating was we had ample opportunity to clear the ball several times before Greaves did what he felt he had to do.

Yes we are, because a win takes us to the PL. Absolutely no guarantees any other way of playing would have made any difference. As far as I'm concerned I'd rather see that than turgid one dimensional football. So I'm giving credit to the team tonight, cracking match, great watch. Famous saying " He who takes no risk, takes the greatest risk of all ".
