I’ve had a bit of a rough time the past year or so. Not a plea for sympathy so much as it is a lead in to my rediscovery of writing as a form of self-preservation. I got myself a Substack now and am going to write a lot, cos I enjoy it and cos it helps.
Now, just the act of it is pleasurable and therapeutic and creative and interesting. But if someone else enjoys it, too, it elevates to something much more affirming. So if you’re interested, I’d love for you to read and support, or critique, my work!

It’s just another platform for blogging. A bit like Medium, but it has a particularly authorial angle, and a “notes” bit which is like Twitter. People use it to do newsletters too. | |

I tried but it looks like my ancient way of doing things has failed to create a Substack account, so this is the comment I intended to leave after the 'Look At Your Fish' piece:
'Slight problem with the assertion that Agassiz was applying a core tenet of Heidegger's phenomenology due to the latter being born a quarter of a century after the former died...but the tenet could have a common ancestor earlier than both men. Franz Brentano's theories of perception and judgement and his concept of intentionality are contemporary to Agassiz, and he in turn wrote an early work 'On the Several Senses of Being in Aristotle' that influenced Heidegger.' |  |

Good point. Though, he wasn't applying it knowingly, which I think was implicit. | |
