New manager, new team, less games overall this season. Chappers and Burns, what's not to like!

They’ll manage it for Liverpool though… No that’s a bit flippant. Hardly a surprise or new news that there’s less demand for a league cup 2nd round against a league 1 side than premier league games is it. I expect you’ll see the same trend at every club in the county.

A fair point, I never understood why people so keen to go to a game that we 'likely' lose yet won't go to one where we should win (yes I know our cup record is disgraceful). For me I'll get more enjoyment beating Leicester and seeing Chappers/Burns than I will losing to Liverpool and seeing Isak/Van Dijk if that turns out to be the case. Of course if we did beat Liverpool though that would be amazing.

"...I'll get more enjoyment beating Leicester..." 1. It's a Cup game 2. It's Ipswich Town Nuff said.

Maybe the fact it is one of the peak holiday weeks and our recent history in who and how we play in these league cup games puts off a lot of supporters whether they are ST holders or not. As for the waiting list, here is no benefit to those on it buying a ticket, the list was randomized and fixed last month. FYI I have my ticket for Tues and think £12 is a good decision by the club. I am on the waiting list, and have missed only ~5 home matches in last 4 years since moving to Suffolk in 2022 primarily through the ballot/Monday morning process - my attendance record counts for nothing compared to those on the waiting list who have attended just a handful of matches . . . my biggest regret was not buying the ST in April 2022 when we moved, lesson learned. I had STs historically in late 80s, early 90s and again through the 2000s but had to give up due to work / care commitments on top of the 2+ hour commute to games as I was only making it to 4 or 5 games a season.

I know you're saying this tongue-in-cheek, but some people genuinely believe it. I'll manage it for Liverpool, but this will involve an afternoon off work, then an overnight stay (on the floor) at Gatwick Airport as I can't get home by train after an evening match. I can't justify doing that for Leicester...

I know, I don't really understand why anyone needs to justify their actions tbh. Everyone's circumstances are different, life gets in the way at various times, as do different priorities and practical and financial realities. I kept my ST in L1 somewhat through habit as much as anything, and when my first child was born I nearly didn't renew. Obviously glad I did now but any super fan behaviour needs to get in the bin. Whether people go home & away, get to the odd game, support from a distance. Who gives a shit.
