| I wouldn't mind a horrible, boring, 0-0 or 1-1 at Everton 14:30 - Sep 18 with 978 views | MaySixth | we need to show soon some defensive solidity and the ability to keep a team shape and limit the opposition's attacking threat knowing we can do that would help the players, the dressing room and give us confidence and belief going forwards this season the wins will come, we have attacking ability, sometimes you need to grind it out | |

I'd like to see us keep a clean sheet , or at least evidence we can keep it tight I'd take a 1-0 any day over a 4-3 win right now and I think it'd add some solid belief for me personally that we really do have a chance this season We need to tighten up a little but obviously not to the detriment of killing the attacking side

I wouldn’t - think if we score a lot then that will force a lot of PL managers to become more risk averse when playing us. Which in theory, will invite us to retain the ball which will be welcomed by Encisco, Clarke and hopefully Palacios. Plus scoring frequently will be great for the confidence for our strikers.

I see your point, but in the same way, letting in a lot of goals will not do the defences confidence any good. The danger with becoming a swashbuckling basketball style end-to-end team is, when the goals dry up - which they most likely will at one or two points in the season - then you're in trouble, as you'll likely just end up with some bad defeats. If we manage to tighten up a bit at the back, we're still likely to grab a draw or two in any dry periods. I'm in agreement with the OP, I would be happy with a rather dull 0-0 with us shutting up shop confidently.

Or 4-2 up five minutes into injury time. [Post edited 18 Sep 21:16]

GON has pretty much said we’re going to go for it every game and go toe to toe. Think the way we throw players forward this season, particularly Leif means we will have a high line and get exposed. However, as we have shown so far we can inflict damage up front.

But might up grade it to a 2-2 Draw would be a good result. Win would be outstanding. Can’t see Everton giving us much but feel certain we will concede at least once. The safest bet for our games must be one or other team to score, think a 0-0 this year is going to be rarer than unicorn poo
