Just finished reading ‘Next to Heaven’ by James Frey which I managed to read in one day which is remarkable as I’m a very slow reader.

Obviously it won’t be for everyone but it’s very good and I recommend it.

Considering it is always on at Christmas I only actually seen it from start to finish once and that last Christmas.

Have to admit I wasn’t expecting that scene with Mrs Snowman - I won’t ever be able to look at snowballs in the same way ever again.

It really depends on the book. I have very few abilities, but I can read quickly and still read a lot (a useful skill in work back in the day) so after 10 days in Mauritius I’ve read nine books and am half way through the next.

I read Lord of the Rings at about the same age probably over 2 weeks on a beach holiday. I confess that a lot of it was above my head at that age.

Vaguely serious answer to this: Into Thin Air by John Krakauer. I more or less ruined a holiday by refusing to look up from this book despite the vast expense my in-laws had shelled out on a steamer trip around Oregon. It was so, so good though.
