Town have announced that three trialists will take the field tonight in their first pre-season match taking place at Helmond Sport. Possibly of most interest is keeper Marian Kello who is out of contract with his former club Hearts.

Aston Villa were strongly tipped to sign Kello but with Guzan recently signing a new contract, it would appear that Town are favourites to sign the Slovakian glovesman.

Also on trial are Frenchmen Plaisir Bahamboula and Soualio Bakayoko who have been with the club for a week.

Jewell told the club site "They have both done well and we will see how things go. With Marian, Aston Villa were keen on him and he's a free agent.

"He's come over to spend the week with us in Holland and we will take it from there.

"He will get a game tonight as will the two other trialists."

Reports from other posters seems to imply he is decent ... and if Aston Villa were interested it's a good sign. Could be a very good signing. dundeetractorboy added 18:35 - Jul 17 would certainly have no issues with Kello being our permanent number 1! was a very highly rated keeper a couple of years ago, as with a lot of keepers seemingly though he had a quiet year by his standards last season. On a free though I would welcome him (despite my Scottish team being Hibernian... I'd swallow that bitter pill and support him at town!)

Mungo added 19:00 - Jul 17 Sounds promising. Won Player of the year and Fan's player of the year while at Hearts, so must have something going for him. Looks pretty good on the youtube video (even if it is 3/4 of the way through before he catches the ball!) but wont judge him on that (after Priskin). PJ should also sign up the 2 french lads, if for no other reason than because they have cool names!

I very much doubt is due to contract talks as he was very keen to get his contract sorted. Can't comment on the trialist as I don't know much about them. Fingers crossed we get the keepers situation sorted this week tho. I also massively agree with the idea of NEIL ALEXANDER!! I really rated him....

glm86 added 00:44 - Jul 18 Getinthegamescow i just read wiki to find info on him and yeah it does. Wiki is normally right they tend to change or update as it happens. By what i read about him sounds like a good keeper had good displays against rangers so reckon he could settle in quite nicely at championship level. He sounds more like the No 1 keeper than loach. Happily have loach here but as back up if kello live up to expectations
