Patient Murphy Delighted to Be Back Saturday, 1st Sep 2012 08:30 Daryl Murphy is back on loan at Ipswich again and revealed he had to play a waiting game before his third return was clinched on the eve of the transfer window closing. Murphy, 29, said: “It’s been a while getting it sorted. The gaffer told me at the end of last season that he would like to do something but that he thought it would be difficult. “It was just a case of waiting and seeing if anything came of it, and thankfully it did. I had a few loan offers from other clubs but the only one that interested me was here, to be honest with you. “I mean, it’s my third time here and obviously I like the club. I like everything about it and I just wanted to come back here. “It’s just something about this place. The fans are great, there’s a great stadium and training ground, the lads are really good to get on with and there are some good players here as well. “The manager has shown a lot of faith in me. I think that was one of the most important things. He believes in me and gave me a chance here. I was delighted to come back.” Murphy remains a Celtic player until his Parkhead contract expires next summer and while he might have returned on a permanent basis he was just happy that a deal was in place to enable him to return for a third time. He added: “There was a bit of talk about a permanent deal but in the end it was a loan deal. Obviously, coming back here was always something I wanted to do and in the end we got there. “I just need to get my head down and pick up where I left off towards the end of last season. If I can do that then who knows? “I had a hamstring injury and I was out for a few weeks. But I’ve done all my fitness work over the last week and a half and I feel good. I’ve trained today (Friday) and I’ve been training since Monday so I feel good.” Murphy is set to be included in the Town squad for the game against Huddersfield and went on: “If called upon I’ll definitely be ready and hopefully I can make a good impact.”
