Town Unchanged and Green on Bench
Saturday, 8th Feb 2014 14:06

Boss Mick McCarthy has named an unchanged side for today’s game at Barnsley.

New signing Paul Green is included amongst the subs, but striker Paul Taylor is not in the squad having been sent home by physio Matt Byard suffering with a tooth abscess.

Barnsley brought in Stephen Dawson and Jim O'Brien for the suspended Emmanuel Frimpong and Jacob Mellis.

Barnsley: Steele, Hunt, Ramage, Cranie, Dawson, O’Brien, Jennings, Shea, O’Grady, Proschwitz. Subs: Turner, Nyatanga, McCourt, Lawrence, Cywka, Pedersen, Woods.

Town: Gerken, Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell, Tabb, Skuse, Hunt, Nouble, McGoldrick, Murphy. Subs: Loach, Mings, Richardson, Edwards, Wordsworth, Green, Anderson.

Toothache, yeah good one. More like hes had enuf of the man with his feet on the wrong legs getting picked ahead of him and has told Mick to shove it.

it is concerning we don't have a striker on the bench especially as at home even if they put lee on the bench. unsure why we need 4 midfielders!

It is a shame about Taylor, but I trust Mick's judgement. He is just obviously not Mick's type of player/character.

Very unbalanced 3 in midfield. Why oh why is Nouble in the team (utter nonsense) and no striker on the balance. Disappointing to say the least. Lets just hope we win :-D

How can McNoubles selection be justified? Hes awful every game but was worse than ever last week. What must the other players think when he gets picked ahead of them?

It can only be down to attitude surely becasue we can all see clear as day that Taylor is a better football player than alot of the starting 11 this afternoon. I'm not buying the toothache line at all.. Take some paracetomol and get on with it,,, As suggested there is more too it without doubt!

Nouble's OK troubles defenders for others to get more space. He puts in a good "MM shift"

I think Nouble could be Mick's love child

It does seem strange that Taylor doesn't make the bench. But clearly thre is more to this. Mick likes players who work hard all of the time, whilst maintaining a good reputation whilst representing the club. We all know that Taylor let himself down shortly after joining us for big money. Mick unlikely to be impressed and as far as we know he may still be disruptive now.

Should have mentioned I don't believe the toothache element!

Paul Taylor is an excellent player when he is on form, each week I am disappointed to see that he is not starting, there is clearly more to this, I hope Mick is not deliberately disrupting the player by not playing him, I know both of them can be volatile, I would like Mick to give him the chance he deserves, toothache !!!! nonsense.

As much as I like Taylor as a player, If he hasn't got enough about him to do (or be allowed to do) even one interview for the club you have to question his attitude.

Joke that Nouble starts ahead of Taylor. A blot on MMs copy book. I want to see him play, simple, as that!

Toothache ! aren't there any Medical facilities at Barnsley ? this is the best excuse yet.

Another 1.5 million wasted on a player who does not seem to fit in ?????
I can see Marcus Evans paying out a load of money to settle his contract up like he did the other Numerous contracts he paid up ??????
That is probably the main reason he has lost his cheque book pen this year !!!!!!!!!!!!
